Is there anyway to simulate shrinkwrapping an object more complex than a sphere in DAZstudio? I hear you can in blender, but I've only dabbled in blender alittle.

Whenever I try to use dforce cloths to drap over and mimic being taut it either gets strange geometry poking through, blowsup, or if I use the elastic setting collapses in on itself like a black hole and launches itself into orbit.

Maybe i'm adjusting the dforce settings incorrectly or I havent seen the right tool yet.

    any help? Please?

Well I'm no dForce expert, but I have to recommend these

    zonegfx.com/?s=Powerful+dForce+Discoveries

especially the first one, answered a ton of questions why my simulations always crashed and burned like the Hindenburg. You'll get solid explanations of all the settings and what they do, and sound workflows to get results.

As for "shrink wrapping" a mesh, you could always try expanding the enclosing mesh relative to its barycenter by a tiny amount like 0.0001

There's a product here. Maybe you could use the dForce settings for it.

In blender hit the little wrench ico on the right then it opens the Add Modifier tab and select shrinkwrap. Check youtube for some videos on it. There are also several program addons for blender to make clothing for daz characters

I've only dabbled in blender alittle bit is it easy to export a figure from DAZ to blender, shrink wrap it, and then import back into DAZ with the wrapping? Will the obj lose all its "bones" or will it transition easily?

Yeah, OBJ doesn't include the rig, just the mesh.

If you want to work with the skeleton, you'll have to use a format like FBX or DAE to export/import.
