March 17, 2022 at 10:19 AM #1785629Any really as I am still new to this not sure about from scratch. I am currently watching a few guides on making materials just never done it before.
March 17, 2022 at 10:42 AM #1785630If you want to make clothes; you would need to use modelling software like Blender or Marvellous Designer. If you're new to modelling, Blender is the best beginners option, but it's going to take quite a while to create an outfit from scratch. I've only recently started creating models myself, and it does take a while to get to grips with it - especially if you're teaching yourself.
The best and easiest option to achieve what you're aiming for, IMO, is to use the surfaces tab to change material colours, etc. You could also use Photoshop to create textures. Parmy Baddhan has some great, easy to follow beginners tutorials here https://www.youtube.com/c/ParmyBaddhan/featured

I just took a pic of the flag and laid it over existing textures.
Just did it by editing base material in Daz but you could do something more custom in Photoshop. Editing existing textures will give you a pretty good practice for creating your own if you decide to do so. You can see what people did right and maybe what they did wrong.

You can find them in ..\My DAZ 3D Library\Templates - just look for the product name, if it exists you'll find a folder with the template(s) inside. Of course you don't *need* to use a template, you can always grab a copy of the original texture from wherever it is and work it up in Photoshop or GIMP. Click the image button on the Base Texture parameter to swap in your new image.
(on the Surfaces tab:)
https://prnt.sc/RKP4XAn1v_kRMarch 19, 2022 at 12:45 AM #1786116I work in poser and much like ADAM's method, I also use existing clothes and props, Being the lazy type as well 😀 I don't create from scratch .. I just open the existing textures and make the texture I want over the existing one (jpeg's) . I have never even used the templates ... it's all in photoshop , GIMP, or even in the free faststone image viewer that I find enough tools to alter the textures ...
I never worked with DAZ but i think this very simple, amateuristic way of creating textures should go for DAZ too ... -
