This house is something I modelled a long time ago - around the time of Poser 8 IIRC - in C4D. It came about partly because I couldn't find a house set I liked at Daz or Renderosity, and partly because my wife was and is addicted to Grand Designs and I wanted to prove that I, as a rank amateur, could come up with a better house than some of the hideous bits of architecture we'd see on TV. It was supposed to be a British take on a largish American home; four or five bedrooms, open plan but with a private study/office and modern without being in-your-face.
It took me about a month to model the shell and rig all the doors. I got bored at that point and started 'borrowing' furniture and texture assets from my runtime to furnish and decorate it. I used it a few times in my renders, but I was never 100% happy with it. The geometry is awful with lots of badly planed bools and I somehow managed to delete the version where I could turn individual walls on and off...
I've decided to have a go at fixing it in Blender, mostly as a learning experience. The renders below are how it looks at present. I've still got to fix the walls issue and I'm not happy with some of the textures, but it's just about usable if I'm careful with camera angles.

March 1, 2022 at 12:10 AM #1780851I lived onboard boat behind a very similar house in West Palm in the 90's The pool was at a different angle but you almost have a copy of the actual house. Nice job.

Looks very nice... gonna share it when it is done?
I need a sprawling house for a VN I am working on!

I may do if I ever finish it... Progress has stopped as I'm getting ready for a real-life house move and don't have the time to spare. I also wasn't intending to do an export from Blender back into Daz as it's a total PITA to sort the textures out and I do 99% of my own rendering in Blender.
If you can work in Blender and don't mind not being able to turn off walls individually, I can zip up the current .blend (which is pretty what you see above) for you.
