I've been considering using Character Creator and iClone, but I would like to know the benefits, if anyone here uses it.

I know iClone is good for 3D animation, using mocap, and lip synch (according to them), but can you transport Daz Studio characters into it? I've seen Metahuman used in it too, but I wasn't sure if I was just assuming it was imported to iClone. When I checked Reallusion's content store, I see models and products from some artists that long since left Poser/DS (like SWAM) reusing old assets, and character models that look a generation behind Daz's current Genesis 8 and 8.1 models... so I wonder if this is a modeling/rendering program in competition to DS/Poser. I have no interest in rebuilding a library of content for just another 3D program, I also specifically work on static images, not animation.

    However...

I ask because I'm interested in Character Creator 3 and the addons like Skingen and Headshot. Would I need iClone7 just to run CC3? Can I import the characters and hair I create in CC to DS?

Here you can find all the download links. https://zonegfx.com/forums/topic/the-last-iclone-character-creator-dl-links/

You can migrate almost anything from DAZ to CC3/iclone. There are plenty of videos on youtube how to do this.

The disadvantage of Icone is that the renders don't look very good. DAZ is much better at that. The upcoming iClone 8 may improve this.

Characters from CC3 to DAZ makes no sense. Better to go from CC3 to Unreal.

Just download the pirate version of CC3/iClone including the plugins. Play with it and see if it brings you anything.
