Every time I see that, I think it stands for Disaster Force. :0/
Am I the only one?
🙂
December 30, 2021 at 12:01 PM #1762369I have mixed results with it. Sometimes it just works and sometimes I'll find myself spending hours trying to find out why something keeps exploding or tweaking settings because the creator used settings that don't work outside of a very narrow range of standing poses.
December 30, 2021 at 12:07 PM #1762373TBH, as I am only interested in single frame renders, I would rather have decent dynamic morphs in a clothing item. I find Fit Control extremely useful to enhance clothing that is lacking in morphs.

December 30, 2021 at 2:36 PM #1762452Like almost everything in daz, dforce uses cuda and only one processor core. My main complaint is the calculation speed. Otherwise, it somehow works. Not bad for simple poses and unacceptable for more complex interactions. Sometimes I use VWD, but it is quite difficult to set up. In general, dforce is outdated and needs to be improved. Especially amazing is the Marvelous Designer with its real-time fabric simulation. Against his background, dforce looks shabby.

My inner voice insists on chanting "may D Force be with you" 🙂
January 1, 2022 at 12:32 AM #1762871I rarely have a problem with dForce and can often dForce clothing that isn't made for it.
Some clothing comes with add-ons and weightmaps that stop them from dForcing properly IMO. I get better results by deleting them and just applying the default dynamic surface. Un-selecting self-collide helps sometimes too with explosions.
What I hate the most is when you can't stop the simulation and it just hangs. Or I get the "encountered an error" popup. The latter is often because there's something in the scene like a hair... making it invisible to sim can fix that but figuring out just what it is can be a pain.January 1, 2022 at 8:06 AM #1762901Anonymous

I am with you on this one.
I am to the point where I have just dumped all my dForce Hair assets into one folder... and rarely go into it.
I load it (takes forever) and then I can't even see the freakin' hair without going in and tediously adjusting settings... shessh.
