Double posting

I do a lot of reposting

First I look in the dead section for something I have.
If I find something, I do a search in the blog section for that item to see if it has already been posted.

If the only return on the search is the dead post, I figure that is the green light to repost.

Granted, our search system can be a bit flooey, it sometimes doesn't return results properly, or returns unexpected results, but you can work it...

When reposting from Dead Posts (or anything else for that matter), be sure to first search the *exact* title as given on the original product page (like at DAZ or Rendo), then if nothing comes up, go a little deeper by searching on a single "unique" word in the original title - sometimes people here post things and change the original title a bit.
If still nothing comes up, you might want to try searching the product's SKU if known (that often gets an otherwise elusive hit).
Sometimes bundles and individual products cover tracks, so dig a little to find out first if your product belongs to a published Bundle, and if so, see if we have that bundle. If the bundle exists here, then the product does too. We don't post bundle parts if the whole bundle is alive. Sometimes a part was originally posted, went dead, and subsequently the bundle that contains it was then posted. So you would think that because it's in Dead Posts, it could just be reposted. But always check first!

If still nothing has appeared, it's a pretty safe bet that it in fact does NOT exist in the active catalog, so post away!

Besides, on those occasions you manage to duplicate a post, it's not a terrible sin, staff here are good and helpful, will fix the issue, and you won't even get a spanking! :p
