I am a newcomer, why is it 50 points for someone else to sell a resource? And I only have 25 points?

You will accumulate points every day you visit the site. It actually works well as it encourages sharing of content. If you share an item you will receive points when others access it

Isn't it 50 points per resource? Why is there only 25 points for my account?

You need to wait a day and you'll get 100 points.

@Randykoala @Recktat19 You both didn't understand the question.

    @wankucg
It's normal, 25 points go to you, 25 points go the the website. Also, this thread should not go into the request section, but the "General" section.

Besdies, I can say that I've made several thousand points off of one resource, enough for 50 other resources... decent tradeoff.

    The way points work,

    Post something in the BLOG
    - those downloading it get charged 50 points for it.
    - the Poster earns 25 points per download.

    Why is this so?

The Blog is like a store with some functionality - like serving the files and managing the points in and out, and that was how the Admin decided to do things, some points come back into the site for all the work that goes into management and use of the databases/pages etc.

If you login every day at the site you get 100 points for free.

Sometimes if you post a message you get some points too.

If you look through the posts about NEW items, you can earn many points just by sharing something brand new in the Blog (speak to @Monkseye about this before posting to the Blog to earn the points)

Of course if you watch the REQUESTS section, sometimes you can earn THOUSANDS of points because so many people want something that isn't already here.

We encourage EVERYONE to get into the fun of sharing and fulfilling requests and offering points. There are those who almost violently disagree and rant about how the point system is destroying the site etc... but at least we don't force you to pay real money for download services like certain other share sites, or force you to buy Gift Certificates for us to buy the items or we will throw you out -- like 2 of the big share sites out there do.

Virtual points is not money. But it does "buy" you stuff you want, and earn you more points for sharing stuff others want.

The system works and I stand by it, and if you notice I am ACTIVE giving out thousands of points a week to those sharing products with us. I buy stuff and that has a budget every month, and most of it I share with the community at some point or other. So I earn my points too, I think the token point exchanges isn't an issue.

I love this site and stand behind what we do here. It works.

PS: every so often I give a newbie user, a welcome 5000 points, from my own personal point stash, just so they can get involved and offer points for stuff they want. If they manage it well those points can be depleted or earn them more points. This year alone, out of my own point earnings (yes 25 points here and there) I have given newbies over 1 Million points to get themselves stuff and started sharing and trading here. Many of those people have become my long time friends ever since.

Buy and upload ONE nice item and you'll have more points than most people need

No kidding. I've fulfilled a few requests and gotten more points than I think I'll ever use. Add in posting items that get bought by several people, and I can afford to be generous when I request things (and sometimes buy something just to check if the link is still good)

I'm not sure what good points do the site, but since it's so easy to make points I don't see any reason to complain (seriously, 100 points just for visiting each day)

If you don't like it, download from other sites once they put it up. There are two other places I regularly check for content since they nearly always have Google Drive links or if the link here is dead.
