    🙂

    And the guy sold it for USA retailer asking price. I think I got lucky because the seller's product title is a little to vague that the scalpers bots didn't catch on. I read through the description and read some of his selling feedback. 100% positive!

    I can't wait to start rendering with it!

    Congrats. Be sure to post more of your work in the Art Showcase and tell us how much faster than your old GPU.

    I've pretty much given up trying to get a new GPU at this point. I can't be arsed with all the stress of hanging out in part-finder Discords waiting for new cards to appear, only to be beaten to them by the bots.

    This time last year, after two decades of not having any sort of disposable income, I was able to start saving for a 2070. Then the 30xx series was released so I waited, planning on saving a bit more to get a 3070 after Christmas. By the time January rolled around, GPUs were like rocking-horse s***. It's now nine months later & I've got enough saved to buy a 3090 and new PSU at RRP after also shelling out for a new CPU an Oculus Quest2 and a new 3D printer.

    I'm hoping availability will start to improve early next year, but I'm expecting it to last a lot longer, maybe into 2023 or 2024. I just hope my 1070 lasts that long.

    @Superxtramp As far as bang for you buck goes a 3080 Ti is probably a better option than a 3090. Unless you need the 3090 24GB of VRAM the specs and performance are very similar. By 2023 there will be the new RTX4090s which some say will have twice the performance of the 3000 series.... it never ends. When you move to these high-end cards other problems crop up, like keeping the damn thing cool and high power consumption.
    My MSI 2080 is 4 years old now but does everything I need and has never missed a beat despite the hammering I give it. Knock on wood.

    @terahurts

    I hear you. The sad part is that you could probably get 2 3090's for the price they are posting on ebay right now. I saw the quest2 had a deal at newegg right now for 299usd. I was thinking about getting one but honestly i get motion sickness way too easily and it was probably just end up in some storage bin in my basement. Hell I have a problem buying steam games at full retail and never end up touching the dang things. I have always thought about buying a 3d printer. I always found them neat but yet again, it would probably just be a device I would use non-stop for a couple month then it would end up collecting dust. I have a 1080 bought it 2 months before the ti came out, kicked myself so hard. Now I'm kicking myself for not just pre-ordering the 3090FE and just thought to myself.. prices will come down if I just wait..........................

    @frank22

    Right now Frank, there is no BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. I can't get my hands on any 3000 series without paying close to double it's MSRP. That was why I was so happy with the "DEAL" I got at 2.2k. It was literally what newegg was charging you IF YOU WON their shuffle or Best Buy IF YOU FIND one in their stores. (which is almost the same as winning a state lotto)

    I like making big scenes and since I'm hitting around 7gigs per character because of Daz studio's shitty character loadout, I can't do more than a character and a half anymore without it basically forcing cpu render speeds. I've found a couple workarounds to trick the system but they only work so many times before I have to exit program and boot again. So either there is something wrong with my system or daz studio is just a pos. I remember when I was able to load like 15+ characters in a scene with (gen2/gen3?) Sometimes I feel like going back to those models because honestly, I lose very little in visual fidelity.

    Also, I thought you had a 3060 ti? Maybe that was someone else.

    Anyway, thanks for the advice and mutual despair stores. 🙂 take care!

    Too true @Superxtramp. I saw a 3070 at the local PC shop earlier this year and when I said how much the guy laughed when he told me as he was embarrassed at the price, as you say more than double the MSRP.
    I don't think it's actually the G8 models that's the problem because they are lower poly than G2/G3. More likely the bigger mats or something to do with DS4.15. Lots of people have complained about 4.15 memory usage compared to earlier versions.
