Well I knw we're all pirates and pirates don't say please and thank you but it doesn't hurt. This week I filled a 1000 point request for free with no responding recognition or thank you. Later a gave 3000 pts to someone who befriended me (now ex-friended)... not a thanks PM or anything.
I would like to put this down to the American habit of not saying please or thank you but it grates on someone outside that culture, and not good for the general conviviality of this site in general.

    Good mornin..
Thanks Frank, for putting this up.
Yes we are all pirates, but a "thank you" should always be included. I have also noticed this and I always wonder, how this donkeys can be so.
Whether that is a typical "American Habit" ??? I think this Bad Habit is all over the place.
So now I gonna sleep again.

    Ouch.

I may be a scavenger, but at least I try to be a polite one. Can't say the same for other folks out there.

Sorry to hear that you're finding issues.

I always thank people who fill a request of mine and I let them know I've sent the points. The only time I don't do it is when it's a multi-post and I will really appreciate if others don't do it either when we get notifications over and over again. But the people that don't respond at all to a request you've filled to a single-person PM is really weird.

Speaking of curmudgeonly bastards, the guy I gave 3000pts to and who never said thanks, wants to be my friend again...

    bloody

Unfortunately this means I no longer accept friend requests from anybody.

Can I be your friend? No need to send me points. 😀

I don't mind that Dynasty. First tell me what's the point of being friends with somebody? I can't understand the point of it.

I don't think there's anything special. Just appreciation I guess.

OK, you can friend me Dynasty. [apologies for using a noun as a verb] I still don't get the point.

Most requests that people fill and send links out too include messages to not reply, I personally get it because i HATE notifications that are not requests or fills. It bothers me to no end. But I'm not neurotypical either so thats probably why.

I would usually send links to friends before I posted. I would also not charge friends for filling requests and they normally did this also. Sometimes we let each other post items we didn't want traced to us or in place of points.
We would give each other advice on renders or art and Sometimes test clothes or morphs.

Unfortunately some friendships lead to backdoor deals and trades which is one of the reasons I quit posting. I almost got sucked into this and it is tempting but decided to just deal with waiting or deal without. Eventually everything ends up in the wild.

There are good people here even though they do questionable things. There are also awful people here. Just like life.

I alway let people know I appreciate them sharing because they could be like the other 98% and post nothing. Then there wouldn't be much of a site. ATM I'm one of those 2% and I'm not proud of it. But as A wise man once said; It is what it is.

I did have one very good friend and we shared stuff that most of the people here wouldn't be interested in.... old cars, trains etc.
He left last week because he didn't like some of bad vibes he felt here.
Apart from some common courtesy I don't expect much. Now some people are bitch'n about the new site banner for god's sake.... give it a rest.
I've seen so many sites go bad with in-fighting from members for no reason. Be nice to each other and appreciate what you have, or it will be gone.

Up with politeness and conviviality! Cheers to @frank22 for encouraging it!

Myself, I get about a 70% thank-you rate after filling a request, and I thank everyone who sent me points even if they didn't PM me back with a quick TY. Maybe a few of the 'mudgeons will change their ways, goes the hope. I dunno. Maybe not.

As to online friends, how the heck could I get a ride to the ZGFX airport when I need one if I have no ZGFX friends?

Yeh, like I said, friendships can be good for exchanging things that you want that aren't generally available. I'm mostly a trusting person as friendships and trust go. Not wanting to put too a finer point on it, as Ronnie says in Legend, "..then you see another bloke there with his hampton in his hand prepared to shove his cock right up your arse..." Great film.
I'm way too old to be surprised or offended by this behaviour. This site is just a microcosm of today's adversarial society. Just try to keep it to a minimum.... please.
