Regarding this page: https://zonegfx.com/shoes-remake-for-genesis-8-1-females-pack/
a new way of gathering points? is it allowed?July 14, 2021 at 12:09 PM #1711674And by the 21st everyone will have forgotten about it, and it will be pages away from the front.
Especially as we lost the Favs option [still miss it.... :(]🙂
July 14, 2021 at 1:33 PM #1711694Yeah, if this is a play for more points, it isn't going to work very well. This time next week will have that post buried around 30-40 pages deep, and nobody is going to go digging back that far. I doubt that very many people will make a bookmark for future reference, either.
I also find it funny in a way. If it were ultra rare, a massive bundle, a new figure, or an application that lots of people would love to get hold of, then sure - it'd be worth bookmarking and/or waiting for. But a simple, single product? Nope.
July 14, 2021 at 2:55 PM #1711730Can;t see the practical use of this feature. The person who posted won't get any points and some of the ones interested will forget about it after seven days.
July 14, 2021 at 4:29 PM #1711762It is absolutely not with the intention of trying to make more points, to highlight a rare item, or what I know ...
This is an optional solution for fillers who do not want their item to be posted by another inattentive member.
If you forget that the item has been posted, then you don't need it. And those who come to use Zone to feed their website may also forget, which will make us more "exclusive items".July 14, 2021 at 7:08 PM #1711798So, you were the one who posted it... please tell us what your motivation was for doing so? The only possible way it will appear to most folks by then is if the item turns up in a search, so I'm genuinely curious as to your reasoning.
One note: The scrapers may be a little frustrated sure, but not by much, since most of them use scripts to do their dirty deeds, and it wouldn't take much to have said script just come back later.
July 14, 2021 at 10:46 PM #1711844Sorry for my level of English, apparently poorer than I thought, but I explained the reason in my previous post.
The newbie that I am only used a new function of the forum, sorry to have shocked the old cranky, it's not a function which is exclusively reserved for me. For those who complain about not having the item right away, just send a PM, it's not complicated.
Now, to satisfy your curiosity, here's the full story.
I was frustrated because several items, which were part of requests that I had filled, were posted by other members. Partly because these people are looking for items on the blog but not on the forum. So they don't notice the requests.
I spoke with a moderator, I sent out ideas, ideas that were passed on to Hunter, and he responded directly. I saw the system a little differently, but I understand why it was made like this, easier and faster to set up. Like it or not, I can only thank the team of moderators / admins who try to do their best for us.
So the main idea is for fillers who fear that their items will be posted by another member for an x or y reason, he can block the item.
Regarding the leechers, it's just a bonus, it was not part of the initial idea. There is no perfect system, if it happens this function will be forgotten in a week, we do not know without trying.
Right after this was decided, another member came up with a similar but much more developed idea which could be the evolution of this one. Thanks to Red Flag for its idea, which I find very good, I will simply add the possibility of being able to withdraw from the request.
And tell yourself that this is absolutely not a point story, you want the shoes, send me a PM, but it is to avoid that we argue over small things ..
I hope I have satisfied your curiosity.
July 14, 2021 at 11:40 PM #1711862This is more how I saw it, but then the items have to stay on the "pending approval" list and, with the posts piling up, it can get really long at times.
July 15, 2021 at 12:55 AM #1711878So this is basically a way to prevent the sharing of filled items for a specific period of time, and stop those who split items and re-post them soon after their filled. I think I've got that right.
Personally I've always honored the, " I have the right to ask you... not to post them..." thing. Some apparently don't.
I guess in the absence of an enforceable site policy in that regard, and you can't expect site admin to check everything, this has become an alternative way of doing it. Sounds sensible to me.July 15, 2021 at 12:57 PM #1711965It does make more sense now. Thank you!
July 15, 2021 at 2:39 PM #1712012For me, an stupid trap...What does this post intend to win, apart from an Olympic medal of idiocy? 😀
July 15, 2021 at 5:35 PM #1712044if, Bwana.
The nonsense is that this is a pirate site. And Justice is in the bushes.
No more....July 16, 2021 at 7:28 AM #1712152Not sure I like how this is trending though; found two products I wanted, different users posted, both unavailable until.......
July 16, 2021 at 8:31 AM #1712160The reason is that the items where filled by request. There was always a waiting period before general release but now it's more obvious because of the delayed release thing. In that sense nothing has really changed except we now have a definite release date.
July 16, 2021 at 5:08 PM #1712285Now suddenly the light dawns and everything is peachy.
Oh, I was just thanking him/her for the detailed explanation as to why one would bother with such a mechanism. It makes sense now (which is a marked improvement), but I still think it's rather impractical at best. On my part, unless I requested and paid points in advance for it, I'll just wait until I actually need something like it later on, when it turns up in a search, and I can grab it then.
That said, it's up to the poster how he/she wants to disseminate the goods. That said, @jefferson 's comment does stand out, and is quite true.
