Although there is an MMD importer for Daz, they are only for characters in .pmd, .pmx or .x format.
I am using an exporter in Alembic (HDF5, not Ogawa ...), which works for Houdini, Maya (2014/15 ..), C4D (Up to r19 ...), and .obj sequence. Let's say, that plugin for MMD is from 2015 ..., without updating.
But ...., does anyone know of a motion fbx exporter of bones movements for MMD?
Translating Japanese is like being an amoeba with a mobile phone... 😀July 14, 2021 at 1:26 PM #1711693No idea directly, but you might have an easier time taking the MMD -> BVH route, then pulling it in that way (not familiar with Alembic enough to know if it can do BVH, tho').
I may have your workflow path figured wrong, though, now that I re-read it...

Have you tried converting files through Blender? I think it has native support for Alembic, and there are plugins for exporting as MMD files.
July 15, 2021 at 8:19 AM #1711898Thanks for your tips, but I have fixed it. I was searching on Github, but this website focuses on searches by name. "MMD to Fbx" is not the same as "MMD4FBX".
I'm not interested in Blender, since its Fbx exporter is "peculiar", like Daz Studio's.
The solution is this Maya plugin, which is in two versions of Maya 2016/2022. (also for 3ds Max, but which I don't usually use ...) You can import the character (pmx, etc ...) and the Vocaloid animation (.vmd)
It has forced me to install "Maya 2016", but it is because of the change to QT5 (from version 2017 ...), which was previously QT4 ... (Not in python, which is still a 2.7 ...)
The Fbx problem is solved saved to Maya project, and then I pass it to MotionBulider, and export through FBX Export as Python plugin, in version 2013. That swallows it up to Cinema 4D (the DMM Tools plugin for r19 is pretty bad ...), but not Daz, which matters very little to me .....
If we want a MMD in Daz, with his movements, we have to make a "trap". Import the fbx (from Mobu) to a Poser 11 Pro, and save as .p3z. Then in Daz, import and the magic is done.
Now a problem remains: The bones of an MMD are translated into English nomenclature. You have to match the corresponding bones, but an MMD character has 500 more bones than a Daz! 😀
here the code. (for Maya 2016 and 2022)

July 15, 2021 at 8:51 AM #1711906I Think the textures path is bad... (inside my usb hard drive...) from the file of Mediafire, but ....never mind! Is a test.
