Sounds like a lot of Google Drive links may go bye-bye soon. https://www.xda-developers.com/google-drive-security-changes/

Maybe someday we'll go back to torrents? I'd be down for that. Things were much more communal back in the KAT days.

True - KAT was a beautiful thing back in the day. I will miss the preview images and descriptions, though.

I was on KAT for a long time before coming here shortly after it imploded.

Whilst I still favour public sharing, I would never go back to torrenting.

    Far too slow & frustrating.

Whelp, I know what 'security update' I'm opting out of as soon as I receive the email. Nice that they give the option - wish more services would allow their users not to use their generally godawful updates that introduce more issues than they fix (Windows comes to mind, but so do websites like Youtube, also owned by Google, or Deviantart).

Smells very copyright to me since Google drive hasn't been able to scan large files in the past. They want to know what's in the files, who's sharing them, and with whom, and since your phone and all your personal info will be linked to the Google account they'll know this anyway.

Opting out won't make a bit of difference, rarely does off mean off with proprietory software and apps.

Torrenting was nice, but unless you got them within a month or so, the chances of finding working torrents rapidly declined.

noting that even unlisted YouTube videos are going private the same day, definitely sounds like something Copyright related is connected. I know a ton of "unlisted" YouTube links are usually tv shows and/or movies that some "streaming" sites tend to use (remember that KissAnime used "unlisted" YouTube and google drive links before being shut down by anti-piracy groups).

I see anything free speech related is also being taken down. Even quicker than in the past.

The www used to be a fun place until Google et al came along.

I would like to see Rapidgator since I pay for premium ... also I use Yandex.disk which is stored in RU ... the links seem to last there. my boogie roller outfit got hit and removed in less than 12 hours ... might be time to start looking into another way.

on another note .... Sia (sia coin ) uses a torrent like system ... havent played with it much since a year ago but it might be worth looking into.

Torrents are a no go ... they have the pigs watching em.

Yeah. Torrents have been compromised for years.

That would be bad for 3dload. Most of the active links are google drive links.

I primarily use zonegfx, but they do make for a good backup site in case the links go dead here.
