I am currently locked out of all my google youtube and facebook accounts. I have always hated how google products always want far more information from you that they really need. These locked accounts may turn out to be lost because i refuse to give my mobile number for a recovery key when my email recovery works just as good but now its not good enough for them anymore. Seems its mandatory for google to have your number, and there is no way around it unless you have a profile that says your under 18. Google, facebook and youtube are not important to me. So if i cant ever acess those accounts again, its cool. But sadly some people have alot stuff tied up with google accounts and sometimes i nearly cry reading some peoples desperation to just have access to their account again. This is why im glad i never dove all into gmail and put everything into google products because its users experiences like these that can rip a persons life apart.
I feel sad for this person.

I had a facebook account so i could comment on my friends page.
Now i cant unless i give my number.
Another thing i hate is steam.
Years ago i learnt the hard way that even though you buy a retail game on dvd it still needed to be activated by steam. When installing the game again I found i couldnt activate it again because it was done with the original steam account i made......which i did not keep track of and forgot about,
So those games i can not use anymore unless i log into that account.
Now i have learnt, so I only have 1 active steam account that i monitor and i use that to purchase games.
I dont like it, but im forced to use steam to buy and play certain games because there is no other way,But steam does not have my credit card details or my phone number or address so thats why i will continue to use steam.
IF the day comes where i need to include my number in my steam account to log in then i guess all the games and software i bought that are part of steam will be lost, because i will not give them that just so i can log into my account.I didnt have to give facebook or youtube google my number when i first made accounts so i dont see why i should have to now. Now To prove to google an account is mine i have to keep track of every network, or browser, or computer I use, just incase they ask me for verification when i log into an account?
Too bad if my number is connected to a google account and lets say I go over seas. Im in another country and i need to get on google account to get my friends email address. Google wants me to give number but my phone is back home so i cant get that code. Now im stuck and theres nothing i can do without that phone.....or maybe that phone gets dropped into the sea. If all my stuff is connected to google account then when i go to log in to get important info i need i am stuck becuse it wants to send me a code to verify. Its a terrible system.
