So I really like this persons outfit, but I literally only know how to use Daz. I don't know how to get these outfits onto Daz so I can use them on my models.
There is 17 other outfits I would love to own but I don't understand anything about obj or Marvelous Designer.
Has anyone gotten these and have transferred them?
March 4, 2021 at 9:17 AM #1671566Not very familiar with Daz, still learning, but i guess you need either d-force modifier or rig them to fit and follow movements. But i think some Daz guru can help you further along. And there are plenty on the site. Good luck.
March 4, 2021 at 9:40 AM #1671568I am not an expert, but have a bit of experience with trying to get non-daz stuff into it (primarily kitbash3d assets). Basically obj is just 3d object (mesh), you can load it in daz3d, but you will have to manually apply textures, shaders and everything else and it will be a static thing that doesn't play well with your figures. Then you can try fitting it to your figure (just right-click on it and do fit-to daz command). It might work, but standard daz3d clothes are rigged - they have all bones and movement capabilities of figures, so if your asset is not made like I wouldn't expect it move happily with your character. You could rig it yourself, but it is beyond my skills to tell how :(. Altogether it will end up being lot of manual work and might not work great.
Alternative (and probably preferred way) would be to load it into marvelous designer, fit/rig it to figure there and then export it to daz as daz-compatible asset with materials, rigging, fitting and everything. It will also end up being lot of work, but might work better - there are tutorials on the topic, examples: https://www.deviantart.com/mooncraft3d/art/Marvelous-Designer-To-Daz-3D-Tutorial-846652001 , https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/417911/marvelous-designer-to-daz-3d-workflow-tutorial . Of course, you will probably have to learn how to use marvelous designed in the process (I never used it so can't help there)
March 10, 2021 at 2:08 PM #1673879Hello Gabriel,
I know how to work in Marvelouse Designer and there are Tutorials payed and unpayed.
Workflow wise
exporting your model from DAZ to Marvelouse: you can export your model via simple exporter to MD but make sure you check the CM dont export unnecessary things like hair eyebrows etc only the important parts because MD slows down and you wanna work efficent. if you need that hair make sure you reduce the polycount somehow there are good tutorials on blender for sure.
The main problem ist that you always have to recalculate your MD files because some character dont have the same sizes etc therefor I would suggest re building it or recalculate.
The best way to achive fast the results your looking for is watching tutorials on youtube I´m not sure about texturing part in MD to DAZ therefor I use Substance Painter but you will find a way for sure.
Hope that was a little bit helpfull if your feeling lost I can give you at least 2-3 Videos:
the look can also be easily achived with a opacity map
