I don't want to whine, but I am so fed up with downloading stuff where it says in the text "Poser and Daz versions included" and when it is being downloaded, surprise, surprise - one of them (often the Poser version) is missing.

It really can't be that hard to edit the text, I am not interested in spending points on something I have no use for.

@CDK you should point that out to the person who posted it in the BLOG immediately, most times they simply cut the text from the Daz or Rendo page and just stick it in without even reading it. I find that happens alot.

I don't use Poser, but like that if a product comes with both, then the product should have all the deliverable parts in it. Even if one person doesn't use it, others might. So I agree with you - but complaining about it in here won't solve the issue, we cannot force the Blog Poster to read what they are pasting in their descriptions, if they don't have a moment to do so. But if you get a product boasting something should be there - you can also REPORT IT AS DEFECTIVE... It will cause the ORIGINAL POSTER to review what they posted an read why you reported it.

That is much more effective - people who complain in here, will most likely never be noticed by the original Blog Poster.

Best solution: report the item in the blog post, and detail WHY you reported it.

I have AGAIN come across content that is missing. Either the poster does not reply to "please provide a working link" or I get "I don't have it, sorry".

I suggest that by clicking report missing file, you get an instant refund.

I know it is "only" points, but when you lose points when you try to download something, you just end up getting annoyed.

I am not going to tell anyone how to run a site, but this is a pretty good way to lose members

i assume that sending the report leaves a reference somewhere that - at some time - might prove that you reported it.
It is a pity that that is all it seems to do - never had a reply or points or links from using it [there are some loyal members that speedily reply with a solution, via PM]. Points only seem to be returned when reported to a higher up Mod.

It may seem trivial for 50 points, but it is not just the principle - do the math.
you only 'lose' 50 points - no big deal you say.
What about the OP - who eventually makes 100 sales, and eventually gets to keep 2000 points.
Chances are it is not just 1 item he/she provides that is corrupt in some way.

Thank you! You understand what I mean - and why I am annoyed.

And I have reported it to the posters, and the "sorry I no longer have the file" doesn't put the points back in my account. But I guess decency isn't a member here

And until something [?] is put in place to better address this [and the other crap amendments and additions and changing of folder formats] it will keep happening.
No point being told to report to the OP [which is the obvious thing to do in any case] and stop 'complaining' in the chat.
Far from it not being seen by the OP - name and shame so that everyone reading the chat knows who to avoid.
It is a shame when the person complaining about being ripped off, or somehow disadvantaged, is made to feels that he is doing wrong.

Exactly - as stated in a number of threads.
If you buy an item, and intend to post it here, there is no reason to alter - or add - anything.
As mentioned - extra folders, extra zips, extra stupid crap files that could have bad repercussions on this site if the wrong people read them.
If you did not buy the item - FFS take some ownership, and check that it is just the basic, as originally provided, content.
If you use this site you should know enough about how to achieve this - if not ASK before you post.
Either that or you are a Muppet that thinks he/she is above considering the well being of this site.

Well, I can say when I offer products I download mainly just the Daz3d files cuz Poser sucks...
    So... thats my point 😛

So what you are saying is that because you don't like Poser, you don't offer the files?

That is your loss as you are not getting points from Poser users.

I don't like Daz, but I am sensible enough to understand that other members might find the files useful, and thus my personal opinion about an application doesn't really belong here.

Also there are situations when a person buys only the Daz version. The vendor might sell both versions, but separately. There are a few examples I can think of.

There is - but then people should edit the text so it doesn't state that both versions are in the file.

Count me in on a vote for sharing is caring, even re-posting older unavailable items count for something. I doubt there is ad revenue worth speaking of from leeching to maintain the site

So, @abad, how would you solve the issue if someone changes computer AND network? Tell them that "sorry, but you have to purchase your items again"?

And I wouldn't worry about Daz. As long as they are keeping the prices up, they will remain in business. Their prices are also a part of why sites like this exists

    So, if we are all to follow the suggestion of Zemlon;
from now, I’m only responding to requests. Not posting the stuff, that’s futile. That is also what I would advise the rest of you to do.

This site then changes from a sharing community to a Private Share community.
If only 5 members join in a request, then only 5 members will have the item, and those remaining will quite soon desert the site.

It is not possible to restrict access to items this way, and remain a workable member site. The alternatives mentioned here will push the site to a paid membership. this will also fail, as leechers would suffer the cost for access - and make far more from the pay sites they are already associated with.

The site needs to, essentially, stay as it is - not really broken, so no real need to fix.

The complaints made [by the few] are borderline personal opinions. The site admin are in charge and decide how it is set up, and how it should be run.
Every item you upload, or download, becomes an illegal item as soon as you post or receive.
    Stop whining.
Support the site as best you can, and collect items that you could not afford if having to buy all original [probably].
You will not stop items being leeched to other sites by playing around with point values or having a paid membership. If it were that simple most other sites would have shut down long ago.

    If you don't like items being taken from here for other sites;
Don't upload anything - but don't be a hypocrite and download either.
Don't just make private shares - that is not the spirit of the site, and will not help it grow.

And - for the admin team - the only ones that should be looking at member history is that member, or the admin team. remove this option for anyone else - if you have a problem contact admin to solve. Do not allow this access, just so that someone can use the information to try to justify irrelevant issues and antagonize members opinions.
And no - the example given wasn't me. However, like many others, I do visit every day. I visit to check the chat, to check the requests and to check the new items - and I get my points every day. And eventually they will be used on items I like or to support others uploading items I like.
Over the last year the biggest issues have been about private shares [which I am not a fan of] and the latest run of; I don't want my shares to end up on other sites.

Really, it will never go away, accept it and make the best of it - or stop visiting here and just buy all your items from original sources.
