My suggestion is to spend another $ 200 and get a desktop system with the following specifications.MSI Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 192-bit HDMI/DP 6GB GDRR6 HDCP Support DirectX 12 Dual Fan VR Ready OC Graphics Card

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1660-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1660S-Super/4037vs4056
I have an rtx 2070 super, which for me was the best price/performance card.
May 21, 2020 at 11:21 AM #1603564You'd be better off getting a used 1070 than a 1660. It's slightly faster and it has 2 gb more memory for about the same price.
May 21, 2020 at 5:59 PM #1603613I agree the desktop is better than the laptop. But you can create your work on the laptop and render on a desktop.
I've bought used gaming desktops custom built by gamers because they usually have a graphics card or I can swap it out if I decide to get a better one. You cannot do that with a laptop (or very hard to do).
If your graphics card does not have enough memory to render, then it spills over to your CPU, which then I would suggest something with multiple CPUs (i.e. Intel i5, i7 or AMD Ryzen). -
