Please get rid of it again since it messes with adblockers, forcing you to deactivate them just in order to get the download link.

there are plugins for most browsers (or just use the Opera browser - the builtin adblocker doesn't get affected by anomize, it just removes it completely), and so on.

I just check on BOTH of my computers (I only use Opera when browsing this site...) and EVERY off-site link is changed to an anomize link...VERY annoying...
I've even tried turning off the ad blockers and it still won't let me connect to any link off-site
A week ago everything was working just fine...now, not so much...problem needs to be fixed!!

Extremely annoying and a simple way for anyone to put virus on computer. Does not need to be used. Have 2 computers only one is affected by the anomize! SO it acts like a virus not a service!

Can't it use the anonymizer quietly, in the background though? Why does it have to go to a new page, pause, click the link, pause, show link?

I understand the need for anonymizer, I just don't understand why there has to be all the delay, extra clicks...

How does it protect us? All it does is slows down the process and annoys clients. Not to mention that Norton has been working over time to get the new viruses out of my system, plus the wonderful adverts from the various "look at my naked pics" sites. None of these did i have a problem with before this program started to put things on my computer under the guise of "protecting me". It sounds like something Microsoft would do actually.

If it was there to "protect' then it would, like most legitimate programs, work in the background instead of in your face, slow things down and make you do more than is actually necessary to get the job done. It is not a good thing when it causes problems.

I would be interested in a brief description on how it helps keeps us safe.
The site ran for years without it. Other sites seem to not care.

I dont think an anonymizer is fooling anyone over at DAZ or Rendo. They KNOW we are here and linking to them anyway. A quick search for just about any asset and within the first results we are there! It's like an elephant trying to hide behind a lamp-post.

@gts6 the point is not to hide ZoneGFX, it's to hide your IP when the vendor sites see a referrer link from ZoneGFX.

As a case in point, Synfulmindz monitors its web server logs for exactly this sort of thing--referrer links from sites it knows to be pirate sites. If you click on a link here that leads directly to Synfulmindz's site, they note your IP address and look it up against their list of accounts and purchases, and ban you permanently, both by IP and by account, so you no longer have access to your previous purchases.

The vendor then also has the evidence they need to convince the hosting site you use to share files here (Mega, etc.) to shut down your account. We've recently had users here lose access to hosting accounts where they've had 500+ assets stored, which also results in 500+ dead links here when it happens.

Thus far Daz3D and Renderosity haven't acted on the information in their referrer logs, but there's no guarantee they won't eventually do something similar. By anonymizing external links on this site, ZoneGFX protects itself from more unwanted attention, and protects you from suffering the consequences of a vengeful vendor.

Okay, if it is to hide us from the "Parent" host sites, then how come only SOME of the items on here are linked with anomize and not everything? If it is on the site to protect everyone then it should effect all of the files and links!

AND why are some of the links that go to other ZonGFX site files affected by anomize? Is it to protect us from ZoneGFX from seeing us looking at other things on their own site?

ALSO... as I said before I have two computers and only ONE of the is affected by the anomize garbage! The other is not, because anomize is more like a virus than an actual helping tool.

I have followed the same exact links on both computers and only one of them is infected with anomize. It says it helps to protect, but what information is it extracting from your computer when it tries to hide you from other systems?

I for one have had a problem with a large increase in Spam emails, sex site emails, and virus attacks on this computer since it was infected by anomize. If you search the web you can find others that have this same experience.

The *best* protection would be to completely forbid *any* kind of clickable links. People just have to select and R-mouse>open-link and no referrer is added to the request. This is 100% safe and inescapable and that's how most sites proceed.
Besides that, the anonymizer is not a great nuisance and, if it is a way to get some money for the zone, I have no problem with that.

I would rather deal with the "nuisance" of Anonymize than deal with the possibility of a vendor linking my purchase via IP to something here (if that is even possible). If one doesn't want to be bothered by it, then use the right click and go to link method.

I find it funny that people get up in arms about "Why the security measures asking if I'm human" when profiles literally named "Spam" appear here, and then ask why we use Anonymize when links and images are constantly having take-downs by vendor lackeys.

Do what you will, I just wanted to inform those who do not know about these things.

    That is all!
