Centaur invasion at DAZ!!!
Yeah.. I'm still half asleep and working on my first couple of sips of coffee, so I'm not right in the head. OK, so I've never been right in the head. But the coffee and half asleep part is true.
I just popped into DAZ and saw a whole lotta centaurs and was like dang. Wish they'd do that for barbarian armor and barbarians. LOL
Only so much you can do with a belt and a loin cloth.
Centaurs did surprise me. Did not expect that.
There are some pretty good armors out there for barbarians.
The armor for Orc 8 is nice.I cant think of much that hasnt already been done in some form.
Heavy fur clothing might be the only thing I dont recall seeing for characters. Not sure how demanding that would be on a system. Then again, it wouldnt show curves or skin so it wouldn't be a high priority on my render list.
I also tend to like future or asian stuff more.More fantasy creatures are needed. More gods from other cultures. Never enough Asians. Mixed races. Textures with vein maps.
There's a lot that can be done with barbarians. Lots of armor options, (getting rid of all the stupid spikes that just get in the way). Different helmets and pauldrons. Leather armor instead of always metal. More HD characters like Dark Guard. He's awesome. Enough of the pretty boys. Mean, brutish, scarred. OH and hair.. long hair for men thats not girly styled. LOL
They can get a lot of reference material from Frazetta, Boris, Hildebrandt and all the other millions of fantasy artists out there. Just seems like most of the armor is just a slight variation from each other.. My opinion only.
Fur would be cool too, but yeah there's that issue. But it doesn't have to be everywhere.
and weapons belts. Gotta have some place to put your weapons. LOL
I'm into both sci-fi and fantasy.
There is a vein utility. You can use it with or without the base figure mat for both 3 and 8..
Ahhh, to be able to sculpt characters.. LOL
I'm not familiar with the strand based hair.. Is that the Dforce stuff or is it different? I'd be willing to help you test it if you do.
People have this perception that barbarians are all neanderthals in fur and bear skins carrying clubs.
I just don't like using the same clothes in every render. I make my own basic jewelry too, like arm bands, wrists cuff, earrings, because its just not out there.
From what I get from history ( my worst subject ) most every society considered other societies barbaric. Some used that as a reason to legitimize genocide.
The definition of barbarians doesnt help the case much. A google image search doesnt either.

Exactly.. To Romans, anyone not Roman was a barbarian. Yet they themselves were pretty barbaric and savage.
I've done plenty of google searches for barbarians both present and over the past decades. Plenty of examples. Yea, lots of loincloths, but also a crap ton of different types of armor and other clothing as well.
Wearing silk robes doesn't make a city civilized. And speaking of Vikings, Rome went out and conquered as well, so I see no difference between the two. I think the entire human race is barbaric actually. The animal world is more civilized than humans..

My jewelry is crap and nothing really. Just stuff I made specifically for my Conan/Barbarian character. Rings and tubes that I use a shader on.

I'm slowly finishing Spartacus . Final season. 2-3 EPs to go. I know, I'm always late to the party.Erik is a comedy but one I liked. About the same level as "Time Bandits" or "Ice Pirates" I probably like Time Bandits a bit more. Best barbarian move IMHO is still the original Conan.
"Dragon Slayer" Still ranks #1 as a dragon movie and shamed Hollywood CG and 300 million dollar movies. Add "Excalibur" to the list good fantasy movies. All this cash and yet new movies suck at basic story telling.
Conan is my favorite movie of all time. Saw it in 82 when it first came out at the drive-in TWICE that night. I stopped counting at about 1000 times 15-20 years ago.
Conan is my favorite hero/anti-hero. Read all the books years ago and have tons of comics. John Buscema was the best comic artist for him. And Marvel has brought him back this year to comics this year so I I'm up to date on those as well. LOLDragonslayer is an awesome movie. Right before I saw the movie, I'd been dating an old family friend that looked like Caitlin Clarke (Valerian). However, DragonHeart is my favorite Dragon movie and its pretty close to views as Conan. I'm biased though because the Dragon that played Draco is my cousin. 😉
AHHHHH.. Excalibur.. SUPERB film. Best King Arthur movie to date. And Merlin (Nicol Williamson)? Outstanding.. That was a blow when he died in 2011. He was awesome in Spawn too.
I agree. Hollywood has blown it as far as good storytelling. All they seem to want to do is remake old hits and put their own spin on them to become noticed. FAIL.. Such a shame..
BTW, let me do a Conan movie and it will blow everything else away because it will be a REH Conan story and exactly what the fans want..AH.. OK.. Not what I had imagined at all. I've no clue about any of that. Thank you for explaining it. Sounds interesting.

And they need to come up with some more Dragons too. With better textures.. They could do HD Dragons 🙂the cat dragon is kinda neat. Im just not a cat person. My friend however got to hold a tiger while they were doing some dental work on it. That was really cool from the pics she got.
OK, Oso is new and he's adorable. The furo... In fact, I already have a charity idea for him. And I saw Andrey Pestryakov's Mountain Lakes and Forests kit, which is awesome. So I did see a couple of things. LOL
I love cats. I've always had cats. I thought it was a cat at first glance but then I thought an otter with wings. LOL He's adorable either way.
Big kitties are awesome. I just love animals though.
I don't know, Conan will be tough to do after Arnold. There was one that got pretty close but just didn't have that flare associated with Arnold.
Now do an animated movie you can go above and beyond with your characters as your imagination will allow. Not only would you need a great character but also the voice-over actor would have to sell the character. if the actor is shite then its no good. The stories that can be told are limitless! Like I said the voiceover actors would have to sell it to the max. Cant use any dull (unless the character is dull) voices!
Voiceover actors can be found at or around any college and on the web.
Then the story would have to be told in a way that would steal the hearts and minds of all types of people, not just the ones gun-ho about Conan like me lol!
