I know we as a community keep buying them, & Daz keep cranking them out because there is a Pokemonesque OCD in collecting the damn things 🙂
I have to say first off that I really like the new 'base' character Ellithea.
She seems to be pitched as a mature version of Gia, which I am fine with.
It is good to see a smattering of vendor support other than just the bundles too.
What I am not so fine with is the regurgitated fantasy skimp wear.
I would have preferred it if the packs had included at least one real world outfit.
Your thoughts?I agree with both of your points. Elithea and the spinoff characters are very real-world as people, atrractive enough without being supermodels, and much more useful than the run of the mill "another big lips and t*ts" offering. So why does a perfect platform for real-world outfits get released with only fantasy wear? It probably matches the poisitioning of Elithea - kind of warrior princess vibe, so this kind-of makes sense. But why position the character this way?
At least she doesn't have elf ears....
Now that is something to be thankful for.
I know a lot of people are into fae, but please retain the option for having a normal human ear! 🙂I don't know......
When i look at the overall clothing catalogue asset for Genesis 8, i feel there is quite a lot of "real world" outfit. More than "fantasy" outfit. Even if i do think having more real world outfit is always a good thing.Maybe artist creator are thinking that since asset can be shared between Genesis 8 character, they think that people can just buy/use what real world outfit there is already made for new characters if they want. Maybe, creativity-wise....real world outfit do quickly become redundant. A jean is a jean. You can make maybe over half a dozen of them but after that, it quickly become more of the same. While "Fantasy outfit" do offert the possibilty of a really really wide variety of style and offert more possibility for creativity. ( It is afterall one of the reason there is still a lot of people using V4 asset on newer generation of model. V4 had tons of unusual and unique piece of clothing not yet made for the new generation.)
Other than that, my though on Ellithia 8 when i first saw was.....
Is it me or that character look awfully like "La Femme" but just made a lot......better. O.o
(What she sould have been in the first place.) Ha ha ha ha ha!I personally really like her look and can't wait to get the chance to mess around with the character once I'm able to get my hands on her.
I honestly wish they'd do more stylized.

Well @Daishi , speaking of "stylized" male, by a strange twist of coincidence, yesterday Daz released Toon Hero for Genesis 8 Male.

(Anyone else got some "Fable's characters" vibes with these promo picture ?What spark also my curiosity is...in one of the promo picture, the guy is accompagnied with a girl character who doesn't ring me any bell. Unless i'm mistaken, i'm almost sure this is maybe a new character not released yet. As she drop dead look like she is made to be a "pair" with that Toon Hero. (Toon Heroine for Genesis 8 Female maybe ?)

His lats are waaay too big, but a step in the right direction.
Sure he's going to be in the wild within the next week or two.
As for the female, not sure. She might be one of the daz stylized females.
Off the top of my head she looks like someone mixed The Girl and Tika with maybe a bit of Aiko.
If you check again carefully in one of the promo, we can see that there is a way to reduce his Lats quite a lot to a more "normal" shape with a morph. So that part of his character's model can be tweaked to the user's taste.
I can see your idea of a mixed girl Daishi. If it is a mix, it's one hell of well done mix i must say.
But what push my believe more on a possible new character that would be the counterpart of Toon Hero Male is her skin texture. It's way too similar to his, while not exactly being the same. (See the eyebrowse.)Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
