December 3, 2022 at 9:04 pm #1897112I love this place.
December 3, 2022 at 10:57 pm #1897149I used your script and found out that with my total point amount, I now have NEGATIVE .0028 usd.
I’ve seen all the renders users have posted, all of them are great, specially @Kefka’s render with the leg animation :O
Let's keep that between us or people will know we're in cahoots.
ALSO.. BUMP
December 3, 2022 at 11:30 pm #1897154get more points......
December 4, 2022 at 4:08 am #1897207A little over one day left! Time to finalize those renders!
We're now up to 260k+ points!
@Wondertweek Great entry! I love her expression. The background reminds me of the old stop motion Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer movie I watched as a kid!
@Ewlo I once had a dog that would borrow and hide my things, so I know the feeling. Very nice idea to have them return everything in the spirit of the holidays! But I noticed that the cat isn't participating... Typical.
@Spats A fun and cheerful render! I like your incorporation of the site name into the DJ banner. I appreciate the wise words and quote as well. Very appropriate and thoughtful.December 5, 2022 at 9:42 am #1897688Voting has begun! It ends this Sunday. Vote here
Shout out to the final days submissions! It's great to see a few more come in under the wire.
- @Twiggi Adorable render! I love the symbolism and the story you told.
- @Felicia Poor girl stranded during a storm! I love how moody it is. It remains feeling like Christmas even though the colors and theme are slightly darker. Well done.
- @Recktat19 This is great! Now I want my own private lakehouse...
Funny that you grabbed stuff off the top of the blog to render. I've done that before and it's surprisingly liberating!
- @Adelasia I'm happy you found time to put something together! Very cozy scene. Do you put sweaters on Marley and Max?
- @Techsnoop Cool future cyber holiday! I love the environment and background. I wonder if that Retro Games Center has an old Playstation 7 I could use?
- @Puntoboy Wow a lot going on in that scene! I especially like the It's a Wonderful Life on TV. And it's cool to include a dog bed but not have a dog -- sometimes the implied pet offscreen is more interesting. (And btw you're free to delete your original lower-light image
)

Sorry, after staring at the carpet for a bit, I think it's just a shadow cast by puppo, Max??
The diffuse map texture feels very low res or maybe the lack of displacement map or very minimal min/max displacement map makes it feel a little flat. **OR** Maybe my vision is going.
.. well the book is clipping through the pillow.
You did a great job on the wreath (especially since you basically kit-bashed it) and tree AND THE WHOLE RENDER. I thought for sure they were archmodels because of the detail and photo-realistic textures.
Don't get me wrong. The three I mentioned; Frank, Felicia, & you are near perfect in my mind. I just wanted to nitpick a little and maybe help provide a little constructive criticism. I know my renders aren't perfect and NGL, I find the appeal when @d0gg0d lets me know what could have been better. So please understand this comes from a place of love.
- PEACE, and take care!
December 8, 2022 at 8:23 am #1898772@Adelasia Awwwww! Marley is so naked in the 1-year pic.
If you had posted those photos alongside your render, you would have taken 1st, 2nd and 3rd place combined, ez pz.
@Kefka I appreciate your constructive criticism of the "other great renders." It's sometimes difficult to get honest feedback from experienced artists. I see a lot of value in some friendly critiques!December 8, 2022 at 11:36 am #1898850I LMFAO at that animation. I used 3 online converters because basically no media viewer app I own supports .mp4 format anymore AND NONE of those online converters worked either.
Finally I just uploaded it to youtube and got to view the animation.
It's really great.
I think what could make it better is having a bunch of the same candy cane character shrunk down and placed all over the christmas tree's branches doing the exact same animation. Maybe give the candy canes different striped textures to make the scene more colorful.
Anyway, great animation. It is nice seeing daz animations even though the process is truly grueling because DAZ is an absolute memory who--- ... hog!
Take care!
December 8, 2022 at 8:49 pm #1898962December 10, 2022 at 9:50 am #1899469@Frank22 PCs really need to come with a tutorial that starts with "Download VLC, 7zip, K-Lite, and Equalizer APO."
(Reminder to everyone else, help us out with your vote!)
December 10, 2022 at 10:44 pm #1899700You're right. After updating to windows 11 I really haven't gotten around to updating many of the app and VLC should have been one of the first. There was a reason I chose a different app during the time but now I can't even remember what it was.
Think I'll go back to VLC. Thanks!
