Is everyone using mega.nz on a paid basis? All the links I want to download are mega.nz ... I can't download the files because of the quota limit. If there is a way to bypass mega bypassing the quota limit and if someone can tell me an updated tactic I would be very happy.

    It's called being patient.

    @drauth54

    1. Use a vpn

    2. When Mega says limit exceeded change vpn to new location [do not close Mega]

    3. Refresh the Mega page.
Mega will resume and say there are transfers pending - do you wish to continue?

    4. click yes [duh].

Do this as often as needed to complete downloads.

If you have more than 1 DL selected only the active one will show for resuming - the others need to be selected again.

    🙂

Yeah, that seems like the most logical way. Thank you. Uh-huh. Is there a VPN you can recommend? Free would be great xD

@drauth54 Check the chrome store for free VPNs or whatever browser store you're using.

Proton VPN has a free option but it's very limited with countries and bandwidth.
They say they don't keep logs but, well you know.

Nord vpn & Privado - but not the free options as issues as mentioned by Frank21.
Might be OK for occasional DL limits, but if need to change frequently then sometimes connection issues.

Use any free VPN or proxy to change your IP address, quota is bypassed.
You can even do this with the crappy HOXX VPN addon for whatever browser you use. HOXX, Privado, and others are both easy to make throwaway accounts to cruise past their free use caps.

Since we got multiple link capabilities here, I've always used Mediafire as the alt link. Again, easy to make multiple accounts to host more than their cap, no throttling for the end user, and permanent file retention (unless DMCA takedown).

The question in the title is "why mega and not google drive?" which has not been addressed. imo, it's a valid question. Why are we stuck with mega? They are the quickest and most aggressive to respond to DMCA requests and have a whacky bandwidth limit system for people not willing to pay $$. Why not google and mediafire as options*

*the answer to this is probably in a sticky somewhere, but I didn't look tbh
