Finally got around to downloading version 9 models and had a problem. I don't know if anyone has encountered it. Help me figure it out! I have the basic packages loaded. I have tried several basic models, but will show on Freya. And several times I got this error about losing a texture. I can't figure out what's going on? Where could the file be lost to?
The base is also loaded, and it is grayed out. Is it supposed to be this way, or is there something wrong with me?
Also did an experiment, the skin changed from different models of version 9. One and the same error with the texture. Probably because of some slippery and wet. Nightmare! 🙂
It sounds like a misloading, of runtime, for missing files. Yes, grey is the default colour for the 'base G9' figure, so don't worry about that. Skin colour can be tweaked with Translucency, the higher the number, the darker the colour, & some skins already have a shine, that's probably the source of your 'wet look' figure...

It's weird, because I downloaded the packages through the DIM. When I checked Freya, she looked different, but when I changed the character a bit and loaded a non-native texture, I started having skin problems.
I didn't touch the settings. Usually everything loads automatically. The developers must have changed the algorithm. But the errors just confuse me.
Such errors only with Genesis 9, checked the others, everything is fine!
Even DIM can misload things, & you only need one setting moved the wrong way, to get strange effects... I've just tried Freya with both her skin & Joan HD's skin, I've even tried the 'shineist' skin I have, all came out as they should, I think your best bet is to Uninstall Freya, & anyother 'Problem figures', & re Install them...

I'll give it a try, thanks!I did some experiments yesterday. When loading the standard model (Genesis 9), I get errors (see screenshots above). Next, I try to apply, for example, the whole map of Joan. An error appears, but still applies the map, but there are distortions (wet effect). I checked Michael's map, Victoria's map... same thing. Next, I decided to load not the standard model, but the character itself, I chose Joan. When loading, the same errors are observed. I decided to apply Angela's map and again the same errors. Everything repeats, but the map applied successfully, but the makeup does not apply in any way. I tried to load another card. Same thing. I don't understand what's wrong. I reinstalled the Genesis 9 package, but that didn't help. I just think that's where the main problem is, but it's affecting other models because they're based on it. Correct me if I'm wrong? I just never had this problem with Genesis 8, 8.1 and 3.
When I have some free time, I'll try to reinstall the characters. But something tells me that there will not be a positive result. Maybe I installed the program and the library on different disks for nothing. But I could be wrong! 🙁
I didn't have any of these problems when I installed G9 so obviously something's gone wrong for you in the process. I've long since deleted G9 as I found it a bitch to work with.

I wish I knew what the problem was. I take it you installed through the DIM?Pls check in DIM if you have updated Default Resources for DAZ Studio 4.20+.. the latest package should be dated Feb 18, 2022..

Great! You're welcome ~ 🙂LOL sorry to get off topic but I chuckled at that gooey looking skin reminds me of the horror/comedy The Greasy Strangler. If anyone has seen that they know what i'm talking about lol
