September 7, 2020 at 7:23 am #1625217thanks to @aftyrbyrn for his 5k points for the contest ,
and i'm adding another 5k points so the pot is 20k now .contest guidelines .
1) require resolution is 1920×1080 and above .
2) its recommended to do 1 face render and 1 face closeup so you could see the skin pores and imperfection of the skin .
3) there's no entry limit , but in the end you will have to choose only 2 renders , 1 face render and 1 face closeup render .
4) here is an example of what you're aiming for .
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/v22rXx
-2 renders- . 1 face render and 1 face closeup render .5) there's no end date of this contest yet . and we will add time so everyone could finish their work if necessary .
6) in the end of the contest we will vote for the renders that is the most closest to reality . every little detail counts.
the voters will also have to explain the incorrect details in the render when they votes for their favorites .

the goal of this contest is to see what we can achieve in daz studio . so we could figure what is the limitation of daz .but , you can use any software available in the market .

September 9, 2020 at 8:52 am #1625674Penny, for your thoughts.
Before i read all the rules in the contest, i started creating her. Custom skin i made, and some lighting and effects ... all daz (minus a few firefly corrections)
September 9, 2020 at 8:53 am #1625675Dollar, for your soul.
Then gave her a haircut and dye. Did a little texture updating, pores and such... just can't find a good pore map, and created one best i could.
full sized
Genesis 8, Custom hand made textures (though the freckels are packaged, want to redo with more suttle and warmer toned color for them), Custom Morphs added for asymetry and shape.September 9, 2020 at 8:54 am #1625676Close up... pores best as i could after banging away at this for 9 hours.
I think a secondary diffuse or detail map needs to be added, to replicate what was done on the demo site, to get the darker more defined pores. And i think my normal map is inverted :?(September 9, 2020 at 10:02 am #1625681Those 3 were all pure DAZ3d Studio Public Build, Though (#1) Penny needed a little despeckle filter for the fireflies.
Gonna spin up Substance Painter, and see if i can take it a bit further, but wanted to do DAZ baseline first. Watched too many videos on substance painter not to give it a try.
