This person is hiding in plain site on here and stealing our posts
I am really sad and upset to see it happening, I know this site is all about sharing but for some reason it's just very annoying and upsetting to see someone taking what I've uploaded and putting it somewhere else. No idea who they are but it's very shameful in my honest opinion because it doesn't seem like they do anything to help this site, only take as every upload they have is from different users on here and never one specific user.
edited to fix my grammar I guess my anger made me misspell and miss whole words LOL
January 6, 2021 at 9:33 pm #1656212Honestly seeing that is very disheartening, kind of makes me not want to share the things I get but obviously I won't stop. I enjoy sharing with others and helping when I can.
January 6, 2021 at 9:48 pm #1656213Honestly.
This happens so often to so many people.
I have been sharing items for many years, firstly torrenting on KAT & more recently here. This is the only place I upload.
I have been tolerating the behaviour you mention for quite a few years.
Whilst it is irritating, it is sort of how the system works.
Admittedly, in recent times, here has been mostly the prime first posting site, with others cascading items from it, but that has not always been the case.
It certainly does not dissuade me from uploading.

I originally used KAT before it was taken down and I didn't mind so much the reuploads because sometimes it just meant more seeders and a faster download for others but I don't understand the benefit the people get for stealing from here as this seems to be the safest and most efficient site right now.
@Ethiopia
I have been telling a few of my friends who render to just use this site and upload what they can when they can to keep things going, I do like the idea of a more private site - I don't really see any downsides to making it private as it'd be more secure and less things are likely to leak. Hopefully another discussion about what to do will happen again, I think it'd be in the sites best interest so that people don't become discouraged 🙁January 6, 2021 at 10:10 pm #1656219I have always been uncomfortable with the idea of pay pirate sites.
It is my opinion that if any money is to change hands for items the proceeds should be going to the creator.January 6, 2021 at 10:25 pm #1656221@eelgoo I definitely don't want it to be paid at all, just more strict on who can and can not join
January 6, 2021 at 11:30 pm #1656229You always have an option of sharing directly via PM only. Sharing to the blog is optional I believe.
I still release uploads to the blog after some time and I see these other websites as an effort to help backup contents from here.
But yeah, zonegfx is still ground zero for fresh releases. I hope whoever owns one of these websites are actively contributing back to this community. I'm sure they are making some side money by running these websites through ad revenue.
January 6, 2021 at 11:41 pm #1656237@sleepysheep that's true, I'll consider directly sharing.
I also really hope they're contributing back, I actually found zonegfx after that site because they accidentally linked back to here for the original post and I realized that a lot of people using that site probably don't even realize they're getting reuploaded stuff that may be unsafe. My virus scanner found 2 viruses while using that site and 0 while on here and I've downloaded atleast 2 gb of files so far :/
January 6, 2021 at 11:53 pm #1656240@Ethiopia that is such a good idea! A lot of those free sites do not advocate to buy the product if you like it unlike zonegfx so people just take and take with no remorse. Quite a few products from here I've purchased because I thoroughly enjoyed and wanted to pay the original creator, I doubt many from the other leeching sites are doing the same. I also feel like a private site would really help with the constant broken links that people are dealing with.
A community that is built on people who give back instead of a few who give and a lot who take would be more sufficient and safe. I definitely think there needs to be a stricter policy for joining and maybe even downloading. If uploaders could see who is downloading their product, they may be able to close in on who could possibly be re-uploading.January 7, 2021 at 1:16 am #1656249There was a member who made one of those porn games on F95. He said something similar about a foreign website charging people for work he post for free. He said he wasn't sure how to fight them, if he could at all. I sent him a messaging suggesting to make an image at the end or beginning of his work in that foreign language (as well as in English), displaying the free website you can get his work at. This just reminds me of that.
January 7, 2021 at 4:41 am #1656269@gsil247 I can't imagine how frustrating that was for him :/ I've noticed some people put a readme in their rars/zips that says if you got the file somewhere else and paid then you were scammed since it's free here, I've done it a couple times but I always forget. I'm gonna start doing it again in hopes that the leechers are just reuploading and not checking the files.
@tedthelearner I mean if everyone who donated and contributed to the site (uploading, helping others, etc) was put on an access list and new users had to contribute instead of just taking I think things would be a lot better and prevent things from slipping through the cracks. Just a week ago I saw 5 randomized username accounts join all at the same time. Possibly bots or maybe one of the leeching sites had more people come to steal, idk, but it was so suspicious and after looking at them again they don't post anything and only come on once a day - I'm assuming for the free points. I don't want any pay service I just want it to be a little stricter.January 7, 2021 at 5:06 am #1656270Best thing to do is to accept what you can not change and to put your energy into your creative work. Nice having you here, and thanks for sharing 🙂
January 7, 2021 at 5:11 am #1656271@Cage If there is a possibility for better security to be implemented by me voicing my concerns I will keep speaking on it but if mods say nothing will come of it then I will stop but for now I'm just ranting and throwing ideas in the air with others. I love sharing and the community here, just frustrating to have these things taken and reuploaded to paysites and other random sites that inject viruses into the files.
January 7, 2021 at 5:16 am #1656272It sucks, but honestly there really isn't much you can do about this.
Let's say they make the site private. Who then decides the criteria for who is allowed to join or not? What is said criteria going to be based on?
January 7, 2021 at 5:25 am #1656273I understand @suwushi, hope that didn't sound harsh. I really hope you can make a difference on this sore issue, the pirating world needs it, because the creators need it. It's jyst this road has been travelled a lot, people get resentful to one another, and nothing gets resolved despite everybody's best efforts. If ranting helps, I support that.
