Hi,
I'm new to the site, and I was wondering if there are some written or unwritten guidelines regarding requests. I just checked out the guidelines for posting items, but I figured maybe the requests are based more on the community norms than official guidelines. An example would be incentives for posting or filling requests. I notice many provide points as an incentive for request fulfillment. Is that a requirement, common practice, or an incentive for difficult to find assets? Also, are these generally filled privately, or posted on the blog for the community?
Thanks in advance for any advice, and the site is really an awesome resource for people stepping into the community.

Personally I don't care if they don't offer points, but some people wont share unless a large amount of points are involved, be demanding and if I have it, I am not inclined to share. Some people come here to take but only share privately and we have to respect that if it is not going to be shared publicly, then we have to be patient until some one else purchases it and is inclined to share. I also have a thing about people making requests all the time but don't share. Not every one has heaps of money to buy but an item every so often is not too much to expect, especially when they expect others to spend money for them to get items here.

Offer points if you have it, it certainly helps to sway some people but it's not entirely needed, a lot of people with large collections just don't need the points.
Share what you have when you can and foster some goodwill and you'll get it back from most regulars.
Regarding posting items, I can't stress enough to check whether it's here already to avoid wasting your time and others. If it's not here and not part of a bundle then post away. If someone requests an item you have, then message them, offer the item and do the deal. Some people want to post the item themselves and will pay you for it, others just want it out there and are fine with you posting it after sharing with them.
Lastly, Welcome! 🙂

I figured the requests were more like community/forum norms and generally varied person to person. Being new, though, I wanted to check first - considering the posting rules were pretty well laid out.
Thanks again for the replies, and I'll keep my eyes peeled for any items I could share.
