While I'm all for people having confidence in mot only themselves but their craft. Sometimes it leads to people being egocentric.
In this case, I'm talking about certain vendors on Renderhub. Take Lisson4321 for example, yes he makes good looking models but some of his prices for models are close to $300. And though I may I think his models are good just not enough for close to $300.
January 18, 2025 at 6:32 pm #2114077Some of these prices are intentionally done like that because they know these models are requested here and they basically try to prevent a "pirate" to buy the asset. So they make the item very pricey and kind of live with the fact that nobody will buy it normally, a calculated loss so to speak. And if a pirate should buy it, then they in their mind "at least made him bleed".
January 18, 2025 at 6:44 pm #2114078I think that guy must be hitting the crack pipe any of his characters I see are not worth more than $20 IMO
January 18, 2025 at 10:07 pm #2114096That's basically what he told me just now. He figures with the cut RH takes from his sell and the fact that it could end up on RenderState(His words) if he is somehow able to pocket $150 from the models then he's fine with that.
@itsmenotyou Yep, especially not when venders like Mousso, MagicMaiden, Bluejante and CG exist.January 18, 2025 at 10:36 pm #2114098So basically one of the typical cash grab vendors, low quality assets, quick money
January 19, 2025 at 12:04 am #2114111Basically his feelings were hurt so this is the response
January 19, 2025 at 12:50 am #2114113he'll just put himself outa business
January 19, 2025 at 7:56 am #2114153Someone with points to burn should request all normal priced items to drive up the prices and drive him outa business. Doesn't matter if they get filled so long as he prices himself out of of a job.
January 19, 2025 at 10:45 am #2114174A weird outlook.
Surely, if you want things to sell, price them competetively?
January 19, 2025 at 2:12 pm #2114194maybe that vendors price is based on the amount of time spent on its creation, so if its only sold one time, that covers the hours it took to make it and he gets paid for his time he spent on it. If more than 1 sells, its profit. Probably realizes after the first sale it will be pirated and will never make back in money the hours spent in time to create it, and would be happy just to sell one at the higher price, to at least pay for his time.
January 19, 2025 at 2:25 pm #2114197Would anyone like it enough to pay over ten times the going rate?
I don't think so!

January 19, 2025 at 2:47 pm #2114203@Gts6 Your statement sounds similar to what Lisson4321 told me on RH as his response.
Vendors aren't dumb, they know that there are pirated sites out there. It's also why some of them have side work like private commissions. That said, why hasn't any other vendor used the same strategy Lisson4321 is using? Because it's counterproductive that's why.
January 20, 2025 at 11:15 am #2114311PeepShow54, someone else has pulled that stunt. That guy who put up Kate Marsh from LIS for sale at the price of a crate of cocaine. I think we all know who I mean
January 21, 2025 at 12:15 am #2114411Yikes
January 21, 2025 at 7:54 am #2114449Way too much for a generic looking female model. Seen so many of those and these don't stand out by any means.
