My entry for the contest.. the Companions of the Hall from the Forgotten Realms series by R A Salvatore..

The Companions of the Hall (Forgotten Realms)
Drizzt Do'Urden, Bruenor Battlehammer, Catti-brie, Wulfgar, Regis and Guenhwyvar

Drizzt Do'Urden
An atypical drow (dark elf) who had forsaken both the evil ways of his people and their home in the Underdark, to become the legendary hero of the North. Drizzt's favorite weapon was the scimitar, and he carried two, nicknamed Twinkle and Icingdeath and a unique onyx panther figurine that summoned his astral black panther companion Guenhwyvar.

Bruenor Battlehammer
King of Mithral Hall and dwarven adoptive father of Catti-brie and Wulfgar, friend to Drizzt Do'Urden and Regis, crafter of Aegis-fang. Gruff and stubborn, suspicious of magic but willing to put aside his prejudices for other races when needed, which helped him gain the friendship of Drizzt.

Catti-brie
A beautiful, auburn-haired, and blue-eyed female human, adopted daughter of Bruenor Battlehammer and a friend and later wife to Drizzt Do'Urden. Catti-brie was armed with the magical elven bow Taulmaril also called the Heartseeker accompanied by the neverending Quiver of Anariel and the sentient sword Khazid'hea.

Wulfgar
Son of Beornegar, he was the barbarian hero of Icewind Dale. During the battle of the tribe and Ten Towns, he foolishly confronted Bruenor Battlehammer who knocked him out with a blow to the head. After the battle Bruenor sentenced him to five years and a day of service to him in the forges during which time Wulfgar changed his opinion of Bruenor from slaver to father. Taught by Drizzt and Bruenor and wielder of the hammer Aegis-fang crafted by Breunor for him.

Regis
Jokingly called Rumblebelly by Bruenor Battlehammer, he was a halfling. Member of the thief's and assassin's guild of Calimport he stole the magical ruby pendant that could influence the minds of others from Pasha Pook. His favourite weapon was a magical rapier which sent jolting energy through a parried blade.

Guenhwyvar (Shadow in High Elven)
A black panther who resided on the Astral Plane, she could be summoned to the Prime Material Plane by the use of an onyx figurine of a panther. An intelligent being of the Astral Plane, she was highly resistant to biological poisons and quite resistant to physical injuries.
