It's the sense of community, and friends a person has made that keep one coming back every day. I always have this site open in a tab and drop by often during the day unless I'm out...or asleep, or fixing my ancient Honda Civic, or working on the house, or doing stupid yard work, or cleaning cat barf off the floor, or.....
October 26, 2024 at 1:30 pm #2097832I really don't mind not getting the free 100 points daily. You'd get so much more even if you fill only 1 request. There could be a way to improve this though, such as by having members who actively contribute be placed into "verified members" pool. Only verified members would get free 100 points daily. Ranking filter comes into mind, e.g. level 2 and above.
On an unrelated note, I just realised someone is willing to dox himself on purpose. Young dumb & broke
October 26, 2024 at 1:49 pm #2097835Actually adding a step to get those daily points would work wonders

Just like the naive kids who have the same avatar and name here, as they do in the Daz or Rendo forums. AND ask the exact same question here and there...within an hour of each other. These mindless idiots need to be instantly banned as they could endanger all of us and the site itself.
October 26, 2024 at 10:14 pm #2097940So, it wasn't enough for me to donate points to the site, I had to post things too? Talk about having your cake and eating it. Tbh, it was easier to support this site, than it was to by new content at stupid prices on the Daz Store. I guess donating towards the cost of the server isn't as important as what those pop-up messages made it out to be >_>
(Yeah, I copy and pasted that from another thread. Sorry not sorry).
October 27, 2024 at 8:45 am #2098027I think like some others have said make ppl earn their way on here , make it so you have to share a product or two each month stuff that ARE NOT ALREADY IN THE WIND this would mean it could be new items or items that are a few years old but have not been shared anywhere before in other words you would have to buy stuff and share it.
-- and stop giving daily points if you want/need pts buy and share.
-- and I don't know what to say about ppl who have donated or who have bought pts that's a tough subject because this is a sharing site for 3d content so should they not be sharing ? aka earn their way.October 27, 2024 at 9:07 am #2098031I am not in favour of being punished for your inability and helplessness to locate and remove misbehaving addresses.
Every fifth day this measure continues, I disengage from a less interesting or outdated request. Likewise, I see less and less sense in frequently visiting a site in self-initiated dissolution.October 27, 2024 at 10:57 am #2098044The removal of daily points seems like a bad idea to me. No reason to check in regularly with the site, increased frugality with point spending. Doesn't seem great for the site's long-term health.
Point expiration also seems unwise to me. I just like banking up large totals, so that when I need to grab stuff, I feel confident I have enough.
I don't know. This bodes ill.
October 27, 2024 at 12:12 pm #2098073Time will tell. Hunter et al will see how things pan out over the next couple of months and adjust (or not) accordingly. This isn't the end of the world.
October 27, 2024 at 12:12 pm #2098074We are all pirates on this site for one reason or another. If like me you don't have a lot of money to spend on a hobby. That's why we all come here, render state, 3d-load, etc. If we don't get any points, we can't download anything. I don't have money to spend on a link generator to share things. I can't post a request without any points. I'm not really sure who you are trying to punish or run off. As of now, the only way I can get points is to buy them. So if that's the case, I'll just buy from the vendor. Someone mentioned leeches lol. What do you all think everyone is on here. Your worried about someone putting something on another site, but it's ok to put something on this site. Doesn't make any since. It's like a kid come up with this, or a money hungry person that wants money for something they didn't create. It was all good for a couple of years, I guess it's ending.
October 27, 2024 at 1:25 pm #2098091If people didn`t complain or gossip about sharing sites for the last two months,
and items from here go to there bla bla bla,
nothing would have changed. But people can`t just shut up, just be happy what is provided here, now they
planning to changed it and you who complained, have just created a bigger problem for most of us here.
WTF does it matter other sites will leech?
Everybody leeches one way or another, internet is all about leeching.
Coures, Ebooks, Movies, 3D assets, why complaining that a hand full of other DAZ related websites would leech?
To me this is delusional/ irrational being on a site like this and complaining about other websites who are leeching. WE all do it!!October 27, 2024 at 2:03 pm #2098100We are all pirates on this site for one reason or another. If like me you don't have a lot of money to spend on a hobby. Because of comments like these, many contributors stopped sharing content not too long ago. Reading this, you realize that most people don’t appreciate your efforts and contributions to the community!
I want to ask a question: if we (contributors) stop sharing content in the requests section, what will you download from this site?
I believe that this is a content-sharing site, first and foremost! Why should I share assets that I purchase with my hard-earned money with people who haven’t contributed a single cent? Why should I share with people who ignore my request to “Keep this content ONLY FOR YOURSELF” and not share it with anyone else? If you can’t afford your hobby, then maybe it’s not the right hobby for you. Or find 5-10 bucks a month to fulfill 1-2 requests.
Now, I’d like to share my thoughts on recent changes.
- The removal of 100 daily points for logging in. I fully support this, as I believe it will help weed out people who don’t want to contribute anything and are used to getting everything for free. I also think it will be a strong blow to the leeches.
- Stricter ban and warning policies. This should apply not only to lower levels. I know some notorious violators with Level 5, who somehow magically avoid bans
The site’s economy. This site has its own economy, and it works. Points are the main motivation for many here to share content. Therefore, any changes in the point accrual system need to be thought through carefully...
- Removing or reducing the tax may positively impact members’ desire to post content in the public blog.
- Tax on accumulated points. I understand why you need this, but can you explain why I, after fulfilling 20-30 requests in a week and earning my well-deserved points, should lose them? I believe this would be a very harsh move towards contributors and those who post content in the public blog. The tax should not apply to already earned points. Consider retaining points only from inactive accounts, say, after 3-5 months of inactivity.
- Raising the minimum threshold of points offered for requests. This will mean that many won’t be able to participate in requests actively. Not everyone is ready to spend 1000 points on everyday content… Requests like texture packs would be pointless. 1000 points should only be the minimum threshold for requests involving any bundles.
- The selective fulfillment feature is essential for all contributors. This would allow us to moderate the requests we fill ourselves. Among contributors, there’s already a list of leeches and rule violators circulating, who still manage to avoid getting banned. And this is not a long list compared to the 70,000 active accounts in our community. I am sure that introducing this feature will bring back contributors who left.
Admins, thank you for trying to listen to all sides. This is important, and we appreciate it. Stay strong.
Looking forward to seeing these changes implemented and developed.
October 27, 2024 at 2:22 pm #2098103The main reason I loved this site was for the daily points (I try not to miss a day, I like collecting them).
Well too bad I guess, don't really care now since visits don't matter.
I find it rather interesting that a pirating website is punishing faithful members over content that the website deemed as "stolen fair and square" because it is being "unethically pirated" by a few less ethical users.
My guess is that there might be a less destructive way to handle this instead of removing the Main Single Thing that brought people here and kept them coming back regularly in the first place. It was a genius traffic marketing tactic in the first place. I am truly baffled by the decision to remove the one thing that worked so well. I will be tuning in the next few days, just to see if policy changes, but if not will go back to finding other sites.
October 27, 2024 at 2:39 pm #2098106@rcraven1, I go to your profile and see... nothing. Not a single contributed resource, not a single attempt to support the community. Funny, isn’t it — to demand and complain about the site when you’ve given nothing in return?
Maybe, before getting outraged, it’s worth remembering that this content exists here only thanks to those who share and support others?
It’s interesting that many people forget: all the content on this site exists only thanks to those who spend their own money to acquire it and then share it with others. These are the very people who fill the site and allow others to download materials for free. If they stop doing this, where will the content come from?
We see two groups of users here: one is those who buy assets, investing their own funds to share with others, and the other is those who feel entitled to access everything here for free, even if they themselves haven’t contributed anything. This site's "economy," as basic as it sounds, relies on the goodwill of the contributors. When such users see their work and requests ignored, they naturally lose the motivation to keep sharing.
Think about what will happen if contributors decide to stop their activity? We’ll be left without any new material, as it's precisely thanks to these people's efforts that the site remains engaging and alive.
October 27, 2024 at 2:40 pm #2098108No, I get it. Us poor people got to go. You can call this site whatever you want, at the end of the day it is what it is. Sharing, pirate, selling, trading, something that is not yours. As far as comments, that's the only one I have ever posted on here. This site is useless now.
