I think you might just need to rotate the HDRI a bit, to make sure everyone gets some proper shadows, I mean the dog is so illuminated it looks flat 🙁
The alternation of shadows and light is the trick to give the illusion of more depth to characters 😉
Other than that, you could use the DoF variant of that HDRI to get a proper DoF in the image, (typically, DoF doesn't work too well with HDRIs, but these ones were specifically designed to overcome that limitation). As far as I remember these HDRIs also come with predefined cameras 🙂
