    In a couple years, G11 will have 32k textures and crash on startup; no matter which GPU you have.

    Don't worry, nVidia announced the new Quadro (RTX6000) today with 48Gb of ECC ram. Going by the MSRP on the old 48Gb A6000 this new one should only be a bit over $7000 USD at release...

    Even though the overall poly density has about doubled they seem less dense in the breast region than previous generations ie. nipples/areola. Would this make them less realistic?

    And he did show some extra bones, under the hip in the scene editor was also a spine1 and spine 2

    No explanation of where they are or are oriented on the model. How they're mapped or named relative to old. If they'll line up with export naming for other platforms.
    A single button click and all could have been revealed visually in a second, even without a formal discussion. Now it's up to hunting and waiting.
    Everyone in one place to see the ups of a release of a rigged model, and no one thinks to talk about or show off the rigging.

    New spine bones. AFAIC from what little given, another FBX headache.

    LMAO @Puntoboy that's the first thing that came to mind when they mentioned the $160 V9 Bundle price tag.

    I need to know how they'll address soft body physics/muscle and body weight mapping/dforce... if it's the same "add dforce modifier: dynamic surface" while juggling with various vender solutions, I don't think I'll bother.

    I'm at the point where I only model in 8.1 and I spend so more time tinkering than creating art... and the issue is usually with dforce breast and hips, how they seldom simulate how you want and the shells almost always clash with gens. They didn't address that at all... I know it's early, but still.

    @goblyn there was some work arounds for that I'll see if I can find em for you, I had the same issues when v2 came out and just stopped using them on my models when doing a normal scene and having a separate scene subset for animations with it all added.

    Hamster the PA for dforce breast is active in that post and uploads a file towards the bottom of the first page that helps with golden palace issues.

    The big point for them it seems was now only one base figure for whatever you want to do, if you want a male, slider to the left, female? slider to the right. 8K skins is great, I thought the side by side showing how expressions are so much better in 9 than 8.1 was about the best selling point during the entire pitch. And I .. ALMOST felt sorry for WP-Guru having to do the presenting with what was obviously a hostile sidebar chat going on. And was it me or did he stop to drink out of his coffee mug even more than his youtube videos?. but who could blame them with all the talk of non-compatibility again. BUT no more HD addons??? G9 is HD out the gate period.? I do have some questions about how that is going too impact some of the small time figure artists as well. My biggest complaint was they were zooming in on the cheeks to show the skin detail but I could still see with the smile expression applied the actual lips were rippling. Kind of like when you turn off limits and bend a joint too far

    I'm also shocked NO-ONE has posted that freebie outfit on the front page for download for 100 points. Best comment in the chat goes to "Everyone gets a free Daz chest tattoo at the end of the sessions, line up at the podium". I thought his comment that this isn't an outfit we could possibly sell so here is a gift for staying for the whole presentation was hilarious. I noticed 1750-ish attendees at the peak, not sure if that was just subscribers or everyone watching the stream..

    seeing that Gen 9 has HD built in will definitely another BS “proprietary” monopoly tactic. we all know that HD morphs are only allowed for PAs and now since the the entire figure is HD, no one will able to create new morphs unless their a PA.

    unless this is a different implementation, DAZ is done.

    Totally noticed this, too. Especially the second time zoomed, and parked, and turning. (To the leeeft. To the riiight. ...To the leee)

    I'm less phased than I even expected, tbh. It's not an "expectation" thing, so much as a "meh" thing. It's not in anyone's hands but a small handful right now, and much remains to be seen. But as for detail maps and PBR, you can get as much out of V8.1 with default Micro Skin out of the box. (Admittedly the micro-normals around the eyes were different and seemed interesting, but "in-credible" no.)(Which begets: Is DAZ Iray worth 8K? Or is this a reach to sell PetaByte hard drives?)

    Not sure if you've tried FeralFey & Lyrra Madril's Squishy Humans products (an attempt at soft-body phys). But they can (sometimes) not completely ruin a scene*.
    *(Depending on the figure, pose, sweat, weather. YMMV)
    The vendor openly says as much, and admits it's still a WIP. It's interesting when working.

    I just want to get my hands on the base so I can start making some male morphs. We are about to get slammed with 1,000 iterations of the same female morph =)

    Those 4 extra spine bones might come in handy for fixing the crappy lying down pose sets. ATM I can only fix them by vertically rotating the whole body and then bending the pelvis.

    Another bitch is legs... when you put the thigh flat on the ground, even with glute squished morph, the shin goes way down through the floor... reverse bend it and it's deformed. I don't think G9 will fix that one.

    ah well. this means that there's gonna be 0 backwards compatibility on all G8/8.1 outfits then. totally different UVs and bones.
