Ok, earlier this morning, just after the DAZ web site updated for the new day I loaded the page I saw a list of the new items. Sometimes when I visit just has the site updates, I will see extra items. Some saying "Inactive" and usually refreshing the page will get rid of them, and sometimes not. Sometimes I will see new items that spark my interest but when I go to open the page, I get an error saying it down not exist. Refreshing the list which shows the item will usually make the item disappear. Usually a day or two later they will reappear and be available.
This happen this morning. The item that caught my attention was the following:
CB Swim Outfit dforce Cover for Genesis 9
I went to right click on the item and open it in a new tab but accidentally left click on it instead and got the no such page error. I try backing up to get a screenshot of the item but when I did the list refreshed and it disappeared. I tried looking around for info on a possible Genesis 9 release but did not find anything so at this point I am left wondering. Was it a misspelling of an item not yet released but ready for release in the next couple of days, Or are they about to drop a surprise on us with a new version of Genesis.
There is a thread on the daz forums about an announcement that is due to happen next week. Maybe it is Genesis 9 is coming. Could also be DAZ 5.
Yeh StarryEyes this is the image with the G9 girl. Not exactly an earth-shattering new generation... looks like she could be anybody from V4 up.... sigh. I wonder if the G9 new clothes, textures, scripts, add-ons are backwards compatible?

DAZ5 would be good. G9, not so much. Until DS fixes their memory issues and inability to pick and choose which morphs to load when we want to use them (which contributes greatly to their memory issues), it will still suck.

it will show the page and you check the stored version 😉
(it cached the SKU, so you can search that as well and check the stored version on google -> 87274)@joel Studio 5? Ugh. I hope not. I still have not gotten around to installing 4.20. I keep making plans to do it but keep putting it off. Genesis 9 on the other hand, I think I can handle, maybe.
@frank22 Thats it. I was halfway expecting it to be made avible today when the web site refrshed and updated, which also meant G9 would be, but neither were.@littlepleasures, you are correct. DAZ exists to serve the PA community, not the user community. Selling pose packs, morphs, tools, add-ons, and the overlapping myriad of characters is how they make money. Blender is the way imo.

I agree with some of the posters at the YT link. If it's not DS5, or a move to a subscription model, it has to be G9.

After the failed Daz DRM and NFT "big new things", it wouldn't surprise me whatever they did.The product remains in the store (inactive status) if you search. The screenshot is also on r/Daz3D. The Daz mods are removing all references to this on their forum which indicates to me that the surprise is indeed G9. If the mods had let it alone, this might have been a clever troll on their part. I guess the Daz mods don't know how the interwebs work...
They better come up with some significant improvements. Soft body physics probably aren't those, if my pixel peeping on this product shot doesn't fail me.
I don't mind G9 even if there isn't backwards compatibility built in, but subscription model will be a nail in the coffin, So sick of the As a service models. The only pages I could find cached by Google was for the Swim outfit same image posted above. But the compatible studio version is still 4.20 so my money is on G9 is the announcement.

That relates to the fear that a new DS or G9 could make assets for all the previous generations obsolete.

I fear that may be the case.Collector mentality LOL - there's a bird where I live that loves to do that.... if it's blue.
