Downloaded both !Various Characters and !Various Characters 2 packs. The next time I loaded a character, it was already morphed to one of those characters; I'm not sure which. Could have even been something else I installed the same day. Even pre-made characters were loading with the wrong shape.

However, I managed to fix it using this method from a Daz forum post. Posting it here in case this happens to anyone else.

    1. Open DS and load "Genesis 8 Basic Female" (to an empty scene)
    2. Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File (clear the log, close it and select "Save" when asked) (This was a Forum troubleshooting step, you can skip it)
    3. Left Click at "Active Pane Options" tab->Preferences->Choose "Show Hidden Properties" (part 4 zeroes only 'visible' dials)
    4. Right Click at Parameters Tab->Zero->Zero Figure (Zeroes the value of all the 'visible' dials)
    5. Right Click at Parameters Tab->Memorize->Memorize Figure (Sets the current value of all the dials as their default value)
    6. Edit->Save As->Support Asset->Save Modified Assets (Writes the changed default value to the morph files that were changed)
    When saving "Modified Assets" DS shows a dialog and asks for confirmation;
"The following file(s) will be permanently modified:" - "Accept/Cancel" - Choose "Accept"
Close DS and wait -> Open DS again and load "Genesis 8 Basic Female" - Does the G8F look right now?

This should fix it for you.

I assume you found this method in a thread about Tenley, right? I had the same problem, I tried this method, it didn't work perfectly, the morphs stopped loading with the character, but "filter by context" in the Smart Content tab was showing "Tenley" instead of Genesis 8.1 Female, even though I think it wasn't changing anything, it was something bothering me, so after trying to uninstall Tenley through DIM and Manual, I had to uninstall DazStudio and install it again.

    Maybe Maybe this helps.

    The easy way

    Start Daz.

Load the Genesis 8 Base Figure.

Go to your Parameters Tab (may want to check the Shaping Tab later as well) and select “Currently Used”. This should display the offending morphs.

For those unwanted morphs click the “Gear Cog” on the upper right of the “Morph Dial” and select “Parameter Settings”

In the lower half of the next menu box theres a “Default” setting. Change it to ” 0 ” (zero) and click “Accept”.

To save this, you’ll need to go to the Menu, File, Save As, Support Asset, “Save Modified Assets”

You should get a message box saying G8 and those morphs will be permently modified, Click “Accept”.

Next time you load G8 it should be all good zero’d out.

Thanks @Frederrick you beat me to it!

Yes, I would say that OP's method may work, but fixes the symptom, not the cause.
It would work as long as the broken model was installed but will re-break "the other way" if it were ever uninstalled, requiring the user to repeat this method to undo the "fix".

Better off identifying the offending model, and fix the incorrect value.
You can use DSON Editor to very quickly and easily find and edit a number of DUF files, like the character presets in the conversion collections.

Thanks for the info, I'll give that a try.
