I want to thank @kelsie332 @3dmouse @sandeep @daniel45 @worda @gaver @taijiguy @dinkdank for responding and offering options to solve my problem. It's nice to know that there are people who can help in a time of need.
My nervous system needs a rest. I'm tired of struggling, but I've gotten a lot of valuable information and will do one last investigation before I make a decision and take the time to reinstall the operating system. Gotta prepare myself mentally for the work ahead...

Despite being a library file, it can cause Daz to crash. I had it happen to me a bunch of times before I finally figured it out. If Daz gives you a fatal error while working in a scene with a hair product, it's worth checking the date of that file.
