@Dynasty is right, I think the reason people don't bother filling these sometimes is because they're too lazy to sort through individuals' requests.

In long threads with multiple characters is not that easy to track how many points are offered for a particular file, specially if new files are added that were not part of the initial post.

Flood the forum with hundreds more individual requests?

That would knock folks requests off the front page even quicker.

The main issue which I think is happening with these megathreads is the naming of the thread and OP's commitment to keeping points of everyone involved. I tried a megathread once for RyonaCharacters and I kept adding everyone's profiles and points in the first post. It got out of control, because people started adding points for characters that were not mentioned in the first post, so I just stopped updating it.

Another thing is the name of the thread, "(MULTI-REQUEST) BlopblopFish Characters" means nothing to 99.9% of people visiting this site. Most people will skip opening this thread, because it does not sound interesting. If you were to make it "Mortal Kombat Jade", for example, People will visit the thread, I guarantee you.

Which is exactly why I don't get sucked in to that high maintenance approach.
The OP shouldn't have to maintain the thread to that extent.

Points offered are just that.
The intent of the thread, well for me anyway, is to try to prompt someone to post the requested item(s). IMO the amount of points offered shouldn't be that big & important of a motivator.

If you are running a vendor / theme thread, it is logical it should mention the vendor's name, or a theme which holds the focus of the thread together. For instance the would be title that Dynasty mentioned, might more accurately be termed 'Mortal Kombat Characters'

Every so often now I have taken to posting a revised list in a thread, updating the offer for items still outstanding. That way it is only necessary to scroll back to my most recent revised posting.
