Can I give some tips? (❁´◡`❁)

    1) First of all I think that the dog's position is off. Its more logical position would be to be in front of his owner. Also, the lightpost makes things look off even more. Just think about having a better defined line of motion, hopefully following along a path too? 🙂

    2) The other thing that needs some fixing is the light. It makes every character look as if it doesn't belong. That happens when the light in the photo you are using doesn't match the light in the scene. Perhaps use a better HDRI with DoF? for example

.. ofcourse you can give tips.. 😀 that's why this was posted here..

    1. didn't give much thought on the dogs position.. it was off.. 🙂

    2. the HDRI I used was this one ..
.. will have to check the lighting..

I think you might just need to rotate the HDRI a bit, to make sure everyone gets some proper shadows, I mean the dog is so illuminated it looks flat 🙁

The alternation of shadows and light is the trick to give the illusion of more depth to characters 😉

Other than that, you could use the DoF variant of that HDRI to get a proper DoF in the image, (typically, DoF doesn't work too well with HDRIs, but these ones were specifically designed to overcome that limitation). As far as I remember these HDRIs also come with predefined cameras 🙂
