This is just the lazy me saying, but cant we have a separate section just for adult items displaying it's actual content ? I just don't want to bother opening the link to see what the item looks like. I understand that kids might be here or ppl not a big fan of this and don't want to be exposed to it, but we can easily tackle with some warning or disclosure when they enter the adult section, similar to 3d-stuff.community (altho they don't have any warning but it's a good example what I'm trying to convey)
never understood why any sites disallow naked content in DAZ since you literally cannot use the DAZ software without seeing it anyway. As soon as you load in default characters, they are already naked! You cant use it without seeing it.
I would support putting all 18+ content behind an age gate of some kind.
There is a big difference between non-sexual nudity and sexual nudity, but either way hosting adult content of any kind (including pictures of renders) opens up any site to much more scrutiny by webhosts, payment providers, etc.
DS won't consider it NSFW as it is no different to a manikin being dressed in a window.

But how come Renderotica allows payment via credit cards, paypal, etc. if their payment processor doesn't allow it ? Surely, they're doing something right or could it be overlook from their side
@melonlord, When you buy at Perverted'Otica, the order is processed by a sister site, cgbytes.com The sister site has no naughty stuff so the CC company or PayPal allow the purchase to go through.
But why a section for NFSW if they are already marked with the typical image? Better to make one with "Useless Things"... 😀
@abad .. MelonLord's gripe is that when everything is mixed up together, you have to scroll longer, click more and then open up each post and click on the store link to see the actual images..
.. his question is.. why can't we have a separate section for NSFW posts where you don't have the standard NSFW image but the actual content images.. so you don't have to open up each one just to find out if its to your liking.. 😀

I was 16 when I started playing with Daz, I don't really think it's a good idea in general to have porn stuff out there where someone who is underage can easily get ahold of it. I think a lot of people here skew older, but like...not everyone. Enough NSFW/explicit images slip through the cracks and onto the blog page that I think it's better to have some kind of age gate for NSFW assets. If for no other reason than to avoid bringing even more unwanted attention/scrutiny to the site.
Of course, this is assuming anything ever changes on this site.
Yes! exactly. If it could display the actual content, that'd be great. If not, I think most of us would still be happy if there were a dedicated section for it. Cause as @wflg-gm said, there might be underage people here who could unintentionally be exposed to these posts. So why not place them under a separate category and maybe add a warning when accessing it? Plus, it'd save me the time to look for any nsfw assets
.. an age-gate on a public site is worth no age-gate at all.. it all depends on the person giving the correct details during registration.. (.. I don't remember, do we give the DOB when registering here..)
.. and placing a warning in the new category is also worthless.. since it does not block..
.. and since when did teenagers care about warnings.. 😀@gladson1976 the purpose of an age gate on adult content is one of both liability (if a teenager lies about their age, that's on them from a legal standpoint) and also to prevent underaged people who *don't* want to view sexual stuff from having it presented front and center everywhere they go.
We already have an age gate in the form of the "Warning Adult Content" image. Even clicking on that will not show anything inappropriate. One has to leave the site to see any naughty stuff.... a conscious decision to do so.
@wflg-gm .. agree on the point of legality and liability.. but my reply was to this statement..

.. having an age gate only makes it much more easier to have those content thrown on your face.. all you have to do is pass that gate and you have all the explicit images thrown on the face of all those underage patrons..
.. legality and liability aside, its better to have it as it is.. where you actually need to go to the product pages individually to have that content thrown at your face.. 🙂
