Anyone knows why aren't there high quality outdoor house designs for Daz Studio?

I'm talking of architect level quality like there are for 3ds Max and Sketchup.

Depending on the level of accurate realism you need, there are some DS models that, from a reasonable distance, could qualify as realistic, although a lot of DS models rely on tiled/shared texture maps that don't stand up to close-up rendering.
Stonemason does some pretty good architecture but he understandably keeps the GPU load reasonable for lower end users by some texture tiling. Even with 3ds Max a close-up render will show texturing faults and you'd be better off kitbashing other maps for them. If you're talking about mid/long distance shots Max does have a wide variety of house architecture on offer but in closer shots their no better than DS.

The closest thing would be models from Evermotion Archmodels, for Max and (almost all...) in Vray.
They can be passed to Daz, but you need the MaxToC4D plugin, from 3DToAll, and Cinema 4D... Once you have the model in Max (with Vray installed...), with the X key you open Max to C4d, and export it. Already in C4D, you import it by converting the materials to the internal "Standart" engine. Export as FBX 2014/15, and you'll have "some roast ribs- Archmodels 150..-" ready to eat. You will have to tweak something in Iray (to your liking...). Max's fbx doesn't work...

This guy at RenderHub ( https://www.renderhub.com/zjls9933) has some gorgeous architecture in .max format. I've been looking at them, but need interiors.
CAUTION: The prices look too good to be true and I strongly suspect that these are hacked models from somewhere. Still, for 15 bucks they'd be a great deal -IF- they work. I've bought this sort of thing from RenderHub and another source and found them to be one big mesh that was impossible to work with.
If you do get one, let us know what it's like.
Edit: I just searched for the images on Yandex and Google and found both buildings I searched for on several 3D pirate sites. I won't be buying from the thief.

From the looks of it I'd say these models are ArchExterios/ArchInteriors conversions

Edirt: Yes, they definitely are, I found some models I have been drooling over on the Evermotion site.

I have the 150, for food, for a tableware project, and the 200, for industrial storage... I don't think it's of much interest to you, but if anyone is interested, let them know...

The 150 is in this bundle..

Yeah the thing with texture quality wouldn't matter too much. The point of using a whole house is that it would be in the background, for instance in a natural evnvironment or in a street scene. Otherwise, as opposed to requiring closeup indoor or outdoor scenes like the ones on daz3d.com.

I like The Management approach for their Victorian (derelict and probably haunted) mansion,

    Old Victorian House Bundle

You can switch from exterior to close up interior views. Perfect for my lovecraftian and gothic needs. But it may not be what the OP is looking for...

That would for the horror genre heh. Would be cool to have something modern / architect / high quality. But I guess as it was suggested above, Evermotion is a good solution. It would be cool if they'd just be Daz-ready, because not everyone has Max and C4D.

Thanks @corbeau, I didn't realize that that set had an interior. Just grabbed it.
I'm a BIG fan of The Management's Ravenskull Hall which is one of my favourite sets.

@Ethiopia Thanks for the renderhub link by the way. Those outdoors and indoors are really good. I wish they were on this site too 😀

Most of those sets have been floating around for years in various 3D pirate sites. I've grabbed a few but they've all been crap. They're usually just one big mesh and internal links to textures are broken.

Undeniable that those Evermotion houses look nice from a distance, but I think a lot of that is down to the environments in which they are placed, and 3dsmax vray rendering.
ps I noticed I've got all those people in that render.

    Looks good. You rendered that?

I think landscaping design goes hand in hand with architecture. They complement each other. Remove the house, and the place will look monotone. But yeah, I think that when it's in the distance, what matters the most is the model itself, which can really even all be just basic rectangles with very little material work. Maybe copying-modelling some of the most minimalist but good designs out there wouldn't be too much work either 🤔

The biggest problem is that almost all Evermotion torrents or downloads are in Max format, and it is necessary to have the program installed. there are no .max to .other format converters...
It can also be exported as .obj. (in this case, Daz Studio accepts it, but we must put the textures "by hand" in the surfaces tab...) Although they are for Vray, the textures adapt the same. With having a diffuse, a bump, a displacement and a normal, enough for Iray...(and some retouching, of course!!)
