    I’m interested in creating a highly detailed geograft ears. Anyone have any good tutorials on how to get going on it? I assume I’ll need Blender?

    Geografting doesn't "require" Blender. If you google "geografting" you'll have several tutorials show up that will educate you in the process. If you aren't comfortable with modeling...maybe start there first.

    There aren't any 'great' tutorials. Most of them are for Gen 3 or prev gens. Most of it still works the same with the newer generations, though if it doesn't you will have to figure it out.

    This tutorial by SickleYield covers a ton of the basics. It is on Genesis 3 though.
    From the sound of it you don't have blender? Have you tried simply making a morph for your desired ear? There's a lot you could do with simply creating morphs for the character. Also geografts may not be necessary for the ear if you aren't trying to rig it. If you are planning to by all means, but if you just want it to stick to your character, you could always just parent the addition to the head of your model and it will follow the posing and movement.
    If you want it to match the skin, you could just remove the ear with a morph and add a smoothing modifier.

    If it's for G8.1F then could you use something like this? You could mix the 10 ear morphs to get something you like.

    It's in this bundle-

    @Recktat19 hi rektat, thanks for the tutorial for G3 and some suggestions. I really like the idea of just parenting the props to the figure. Questions, what is this smooth modifier you speak of and how do I create my own morphs in Daz?

    @frank22
    thanks! I haven’t tried these set of morphs yet, will check out and see if they give me the detail/look im trying to achieve.

    Morphs are likely what youre looking for: It's just a dial that changes the shape of your ears. You would geograft ears if you wanted to add or remove geometry. You export a base model of your desired model, for example sake let's say Genesis 9. You have to make sure the mesh resolution is set to 'base' before you export it and make sure you save it as an OBJ.
    You then import the obj in blender or any other modeling app and you go ham on the model. As long as you don't add or remove the geometry you'll be able to import it as a morph using 'Morph Loader Pro' in Daz.

    @recktat19 thanks! This is very helpful. one question before I do the obj export into blender and import back into ds, I’m using the d-former tool to shape the base ear and know how to do the dform to save the morph, but is there an easy way to apply the same dform in one ear to the other? It’s kind of difficult for me to get that same level of symmetry in both ears.

    @Littlepleasures zomg! This is exactly what I need! This also helps with an array of other issues like poke throughs! Ty so much!
