I've finally got this thing working (it's simple) by the difficult method of not being stupid. If you follow the easy-to-follow directions exactly, it works like a charm. My interior renders went from 10 hours to 20 minutes with similar results. I'm now experimenting with different HDRI's to achieve the look I'm looking for. My scene used a bunch of interior lights and one strong spotlight through the windows to simulate the sun. HDRI's don't look the same but I've got a bunch to try. The speed difference is amazing. Give this thing a try.

Better to go direct to the artists page so that you can thank them for what they are giving away free

There is no downside to say thanks.
The post date since from 1 month and only 6 "thanks".
To say "thank", it's always a problem
I hope to be able to read soon your comment of thanking on DeviantArt 🙂

Love this sweet little camera. For certain scenes I'll never need to add lights again. Check out the two images below.

It's a basic interior environment using A Bright Loft, an environment I know that usually needs lots of lighting and most of the walls removed. The model is Kitana for G3F. No lights were added and default render settings used.

This image took approx 3 mins to render.

At 3 minutes I stopped the render, it was only at 5%.

Many thanks to the creator and uploader.

That is quite a dramatic difference.

Thanks for the comparative render postings.

OK, I'm not getting it. I've followed the instructions to the letter. Its not rendering any faster than any other camera no matter what I do.
Heavy scenes, simple scenes. Environment on/off . ceiling/no ceiling, wall/no wall.

I'm not really clear on WHICH camera to render from, the iray or the cam I made and copy pasted to the iray cam, but I've rendered from both and nothing.
And NO.. I'm not expecting processing time to be faster. Just the rendering.

    What are your system specs?

Do you have Iray Memory Assistant? (Can be got here at the Zone)
    That might help.
